First, let me preface this post with a brief Eloy story. They formed in 1969 and released their debut LP in 1971. From that point on they released an album nearly every year for 10 years, each better and building upon the previous. Their 1st 3 albums are more rock and psych/krautrock influenced Psychedelic rock. But it's their 4th, 5th and 6th albums that truly metamorphosized this band into a prog powerhouse, mixing the best elements of Pink Floyd ("Meddle" + "Dark Side Of The Moon"-era), Hawkwind, early Nektar ("A Tab In the Ocean"-era)....and creating a great style of what some call Space Rock (a LOT of GREAT synths & spacey guitar leads) or Symphonic Prog with it's monumental elements.
By THIS album, their 7th, they had mastered their craft and I find this to be one of their best albums along with the 2 that followed that became EPIC Symphonic Prog (I'm sharing them next). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you claim to like Prog Rock.
