I was expecting this to be a Black Sabbath clone with the name and the Satanic Occult imagery and stage show this band did at the time (1969-1970). In 1969 they recorded a 5 song studio demo that eventually got them signed to CBS Records and they recorded and released their debut LP "Sacrifice" in 1970. It is a gem. But these 5 songs are the demo recordings from a year earlier and they differ from the LP versions. They were recorded earlier. This band was ahead of their time. Absolutely dark satanic Prog Rock of the finest calibre. Exquisite musicianship. Like a bit of Uriah Heep, Jethro Tull, Jefferson Airplane and Deep Purple but with darker tones, satanic themes and powerful strained vocals.

Highly recommended.

The song "Come To the Sabbat" was covered by Bewitched (swe) in 1996 and by Death SS (ita) in 1989.
