Copyright Infringement/Back In Print thread?
Whenever i happen upon any music posted on the forum that falls foul of the rules because it's subsequently been re-released since being posted here, i try to flag it up to the mods by replying with an explanation & link in the original thread so the post & link can be removed.
(Thanks to canadaspaceman & Old Necromancer who always seem to be the 2 mods who respond to these take-down suggestions quickly ).
It occurs to me that it might be easier for the mods to stay on top of these instances if there was a designated 'sticky' thread to report them, particularly as we're in an era where an ever-expanding roster of labels are constantly reissuing old material, so it's become far easier to miss some of these re-releases. A pre-existing thread being updated regularly may also remind others browsing the forum of re-issues they are aware of that we might have missed, & encourage them to report any instances they see & perhaps reassure people from the labels themselves, who may be encouraged to report material they are issuing if they see we have an existing process for dealing with it rather than escalating the matter in other ways. Anything to help keep the forum safe from copyright infringement claims & the problems those can potentially bring.
