I do not look for any bands with high, operatic wailing, King Diamond-like, or Dickinson-type or Halford-type singing, pretty much sick of them, so I have to be in a good mood when it catches me when not expecting it.

Riptorn makes a very valid point that raw voices with character carry more of an emotional impact than ones with great technical ability. Take opera singers, for example. They have serious technical ability, but any time I've heard one attempt a rock or pop song it always sounds sterile and emotionless. It's like they're singing from the head and not the heart.

heh, no, just a funny photo I found. But all the dogs I have owned were always part German Shephered or part Husky.
My father and grandfather owned German Shepherds on their farm. My brother owned one when I was born.
My father's friends, and even my friends when I went to elementary school usually owned them in the neighborhood I grew up in.
To me they just look the coolest.

If I get a dog again in the future and it wasn't that type, then my next pick would be a short-haired dog , Doberman Pinscher, or a Bullmastiff.
I have seen them be just as smart and loyal and good/friendly, including with small children of families.
