It has been quite a long time since I last time purchased records. This time I bid and won for second hand records. This bargain varies from my most common taste a bit (heavy/thrash/speed/nwobhm), since I got some bit older blackmetal albums also.. :P I enjoy some black metal in small quantities every now and then, the old wave of it that is.. well anyway here's what I bought and should get at the beginning of the next week:

Blaze - Silicon Messiah
Abysmal - The Pillorian Age (1st press)
Sarcofagus - Cycle of Life
Amorphis - Tales from the Thousand Lakes (1994)
Sabbat – History of a Time to Come (Expanded Edition)
Sabbat – Dreamweaver(Expanded Edition)
Opera IX - Sacro Culto (1st press digipak)
Christ Agony - Darkside
Afterworld - Dark Side of Mind

All CDs and should be in good condition. 52€ + 6€ postage all together, so not too cheap, but not too expensive either.

Addition 1: Ancient Rites - Dim Carcosa CD for 6,20€

In addition I bid for Manilla Road's Crystal Logic CD for 8€ (reissue)

Well I've found Nuclear Assault's 'Something Wicked (I.R.S Records 93)' and 'Out Of Order (Under one Flag 91)' both for 10€ in good condition, but didn't buy'em yet. Just browsing for some second hand music.

Far as I understand those 2 N.A.'s albums are out of print? So might be good bargain, especially, since I like Nuclear Assault quite a bit.

(Assuming they aren't bootlegs of course)

Continuing with bit darker edge still.

Just bought:
Nuclear Assault - Something Wicked CD
Nuclear Assault - Out of Order CD
Ulver - Bergtatt Et Eeventyr i 5 Capitler CD
BULLET Heading for the top CD
Holy Moses - Disorder of the order CD
HADES The Dawn of the Dying Sun CD

both Nuclear Assaults were for 9,50€ a piece so not too cheap. But I'm not sure these would be the most common CDs around anyway. I think they're out of print for quite some time? At least if one can believe discogs.com. Weirdly the rest of Nuke Assault's catalogue has been pretty much re-printed.

The rest were less, except for Hades which was whopping 13,50€.

Also started listening my last bought (mentioned above) album package. Obviously I hit the worst first. Afterworld CD cost 1€. Quite typical power metal with loads of melody but bit darker tone than say other finnish bands like Stratovarious etc. leaning more towards perhaps german power metal. Bit sluggish singer that sings quite clean and his harsh parts sounds bit forced. Quite meaty riffs though, so for 1€ and average album I cannot complain.

Christ Agony's Darkside wasn't quite what I expected. The album's inconsistent as hell. Half of it is quite atmospheric black metal that's not for headbanging, and has weirdly perhaps even gothic tone to it. It's pretty... different. Sort of cool. However, the rest half of the album consists weird songs with something of industrial influence on the with mechanical sounding drums that you would expect to be in B-grade techno-album. Weird, weird shit. Not a total waste though, since part of the album is actually quite cool for certain mood. But the other part of album is rubbish. It's like two different of a style holding EPs sewed together.

Few discoveries (CDs) around 5-12€, that I might consider bidding for: LEfay-Symphony of The Damned, Master's Hammer-Slagry, Heathen-Victims of Deception, Loud Crowd-Guardians, Battlezone-Fighting Back, Exhorder-Slaughter in Vatican, Exhorder-The Law

Loads of cool LPs around here locally, that averagely date older era releases than the CDs above, but not feeling like paying the high postage at the moment.. :P

Mandrake's original 1979 Demo with the '82 Demo on the B-Side, original tape of course and straight from Denmark. This was per se a precursor of Witch Cross...yes, THAT Witch Cross.

Hey McNiggleston (and the others):
Where do you find old stuff like that? Is it the Ebay, Amazon or something else? I use them sometimes.

Mostly I use local internet auction houses like finnish Huuto.net, but that place hasn't got any older original / early reprinted CDs and cassettes from the 80s almost at all. They're infact, very scarce. Most music in there is of 2000s and late 90s releases, on the metal side based on nu-metal, modern power-metal, and aforementioned era releases of extreme metal (which are the majority of items in sale). Mostly Scandinavian releases.

Some bit more rare stuff one can find most easily in huuto.net are early 90s rarer black metal albums.

Some reprints of 80s cult classics like Manilla Road releases in CD format can be found here and there if you browse. But almost literally no rare and original releases of the 80s outside finland, especially no original late 80s/early 90s classic heavy metal (or rare thrash for that matter, except finnish) CDs.

Few cool LPs can be found, especially those of Sweden 80s LPs, and few German, but for example I've never came across bit more rare NWOBHM LP in this local auction house.

Btw, lates acquisition: Master's Hammer-Slagry CD (original)

Sometimes it's eBay for me, but more often than not it's from contacting and getting to know the original band members. Usually when the band members dig into who I am and see how much of a die-hard I am for this kinda stuff, they've no problems in helping add to my collection haha. Tracking down some of those guys is harder than finding the actual demos most of the time...but very worth it. I'm actually in contact with the majority of Night Vision (The NWOBHM guys) right now and have gotten them to upload tons of rare footage to Youtube of Live videos and such. It's just data-mining at the end of the day to uncover lost gems of the past. (great)

Cool McNiggleston.

I haven't bought much directly from the bands. The ones I can think up quick have been Sacred Blade Of The Sun and Moon & Othyrworld (ex- Sacred Blade) Beyond into the Night of Day (was that the name), and Arrow (Ger) EPs 84.85.

Bought Brainstorm-Unholy remaster (really think this is great powermetal album and by far Brainstorm's best) and Lefay-Symphony of The damned 5,90€ each.
...
