RADIO FREE MOSCOW- Time Waits For No Man (Obscure NWOBHM Releases 2024)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqupuF0hGIQ
The band's history began when Dave Hewitt- vocals Barry Bingham- drums and Kev Barsby- bass was joined by Chris Cuttriss- lead guitar. The band continued to use the name WARRIÖR until Barry made room for Mark Newman. The name Warriör was then abandoned and the name AXIS was chosen. They played a few gigs around Chesterfield, mainly at The White Swan. It has been preserved from this period a tape recorded of the Derby Rockhouse gig. However, immediately after this, Dave Hewitt, who hated singing in front of an audience because it was too stressful, decided to leave the band. After Axis, he vowed never to sing again.
A small digression.
Dave started learning the bass and played his first gig with his new band Das Raaven at the Octagon Center in Sheffield. DAS RAAVEN later became STORMWATCH. The band members included musicians previously/later known from such groups as: CRADLE OF FILTH, MAM TOR, BLAZE, FREELOADER, SEVENTH SON. They released the album "Patriot" in 1996, and in 1997 they also recorded the three-song EP Traitors Gate.

Let's go back to the history of Radio Free Moscow.
Dave's place is taken by Andy Mott (vocalist known from several bands, but probably the most remembered by NWOBHM fans is AVALANCHE from Stanton-in-Peak). The band: Andy Mott - vocals, Chris Cuttriss - lead guitar, Kevin Barsby - bass, Mark Newman - drums takes the name RADIO FREE MOSCOW. The band's only recording legacy is the RFM Everbimes Tape. The release of these recordings on the CD was planned for many years, but unfortunately for various reasons it was still postponed until later. Well, luckily we finally have it.
