Wasn't exactly sure where to post this as it's a compilation of tracks taken from compilation albums and it's an EP's worth of songs & it would qualify as a bootleg too, so mods please feel free to move it to a different location if you think there's a better fit for it elsewhere.
Mark Slaughter : Vocals & Guitar (VINNIE VINCENT INVASION, SLAUGHTER)
Al "Rex" Rumley : Bass & Vocals (APOCRYPHA, ROZ PARADE)
Anthony White : Drums & Cocals (NO SWEAT, MARC FERRARI & FRIENDS)
Any of you remember Mark Slaughter? He was the singer with VINNIE VINCENT INVASION & later SLAUGHTER, who were a pretty big deal for a while in the late '80's.
Before that though, Mark played harder fare as the front man & guitarist for Las Vegas power-trio XCURSION.
They released two independent records on their own Rampage Records imprint; a 1984 full length album entitled "Ready To Roll" and 1983's 4 song self-titled EP, sometimes referred to as "Skull Queen" after the EP's closing track & the cover's eye-catching artwork.
XCURSION had earlier also appeared on a series of Starstream Records compilation LPs assembled by their local radio station KOMP FM 92, with three exclusive songs.
'Stay With Me Tonight' featured on Volume One (1981), 'Leaving Our Thoughts Behind' on Volume 2 (1982) and 'The Distant Skies' appeared on Volume 3 (1983).
There's also a 1986 3 song 12" EP credited to XCursion entitled 'Black Girls/White Girls', which featuring 3 different mixes of the title song.
However this release has only Mark Slaughter from the original line-up on it.
Slaughter plays all the instrumental parts with rapper George Luster of HURT 'em BAD performing the vocals, and the release bears almost no musical resemblance to the style of the original band.
After XCursion split bassist Al "Rex" Rumley would later tread the boards with APOCRYPHA, (appearing on that bands first 2 LPs), & ROZ PARADE, and drummer Anthony White went on to play with ex-KEEL guitarist Marc Ferrari in Hard Rock band NO SWEAT who released a lone LP, 'Break Out', on MCA Records in 1990.
X-Cursion played a one-off reunion show in Las Vegas in 2013, with former QUIET RIOT bassist Kelli Garni appearing on bass in place of Rumley.
Mark Slaughter is nowadays a solo act with several album releases under his own name.
