I ask because this is what the spectrograph looks like:



Notice the shelf at 16khz.

I'm not sure if this is a recode from a lower-quality MP3, or if this is just due to the crappy demo-level production, as I was unable to find a better-quality copy of these songs anywhere on the internet.

Correction: After looking at the spectrograph more closely, I can see that there is not a complete cutoff at 16khz, so I don't think this is a recode.

if you are interested, I also have this version. also this from torrent. I do not know if it's a bootleg cd-rip.
Contains both the compilation "The Abominable" and the demo "Lycanthropy". Total 16 tracks.
the sound quality is quite good and there is no difference in quality or bit rate between the first and the last song.

I have actually seen that version before...as I recall it isn't too much different from the one in OP.

Here is the spectrograph for the same track (06-Gut Suckers) from the 256kbps rip. It looks virtually identical to the 320kbps one:



So chances are, it's probably not a recode, and the sound quality of the source material just doesn't have a very good range.
