This post has received 519 views in just 2 weeks but, if the 'thumbs up' are to be believed, only 11 of those people have clicked to reveal the hidden download link. Seems odd to me, as if there's a way of circumventing the hidden link system perhaps?

I don´t think that´s unusual: From my experience there´s an average ratio of 1 download per 15-20 views.
Remember this page is mirrored to Emil´s old blog and mainly Facebook.
So many people might find this via web but are too lame to register once they realize the download link is hidden.

Sadly enough, there are ways to outsmart the hidden link system, but (like watchdogs) we always try to prevent this as good as we can.
So some people might think we´re assholes, but in fact we know what we´re doing & only try to protect our uploaders…

But there´s another thing I will never understand: Many people just rate +1 for the uploader´s effort.
This is rather stupid as it doesn´t encourage members to continue.
Hey, I´m aware that none of us likes every single download and there´s no need at all to do so!
BUT, if someone downloads like 15 demos in a row, and rates +1 each, I used to be pissed.
It´s like people spend their hard-earned money on every single reputation point they give away…
Meantime I´m amused cause this tells me: "I´m a dumbass and loading music I don´t like."

Thanks for the response RunningWild.
I'm not bothered about reputation points, i just thought it was worth flagging up in case there was some type of scamming going on that mods were unaware of. I didn't know that there was mirroring to other blogs or facebook going on, so in that light i suppose the numbers make sense.
With regards to the reputation points, i think there are a lot of people who just don't understand how it works, either because they're not very savvy as to how forums work or because English is their 2nd or 3rd language.
I'm not immune to it myself, it took me the longest time before i cottoned on that some people leave comments in the reputation section.
Literally, it took me years.
Hopefully they stick around long enough to figure it out & become better, more active members who contribute to the forum themselves.
