I came across this overly priced CD on Ebay:

It's Salem's Wych's Betrayer of Kings on CD -- which was originally never released as such to my knowledge.. however the backcover says Metal War Records which is the original right label.

Not that I would think of buying such item at that price anyway.. but by curiosity, does anyone happen to know if Metal War actually re-released this album on legit CD ever or is this (as i assume) a bootleg?

I Just Looked on the MA and it Does'nt Even Say it Has Never Been Re-isued Nor it Says it's Been Bootleged But When i Baught My Mandator Initial Velocity i Thaught it Was a Actual CD Pressing by Disaster Records But i Never Found Any Information About it on the MA (Metal Archives) So Then i Dug Up Information That i Asked Anyone Here if it Was a Bootleg and You Know What it Was Indeed infact a Bootleg Go Figure So Don't Trust This at All But Bootlegs Do Get Expensive Couse Bootlegs Go Back to Like the 80's & 90's But When Ever the Downloading Business Started is When They Got Crappy So Buy into This Even if it's $199.99 Don't Way too Pricey my Friend

Thanks for your reply. I wasn't intending to buy this -- but was curious if it would happen to be legit release or bootleg. Well I've also tried to find info and cannot find a source that would claim that there was ever official CD release.

Only found info that the band would be re-releasing it on CD but don't know if it ever happened. Way or another $199 would be way too much for almost any CD release (or LP too for that matter). Smelling a big time rip-off on that guy's sale.

The Hot Metal issue is a boot.

They announced a official reissue in 2004, no idea if it ever was released though.

Hotmetal Records is boot far as I know, unfortunately I found out too late. I already have Emerald Steels' S/t CD coming on post releaser by Hot Metal..

The item's descreption says it's not original. This is a bootleg. The guy is very funny though, ''THIS IS PROBABLY THE RAREST THING ON EBAY????????????'' We just found ourselves a commedian... And where did he see this sold for 200 - 400 $??
Stay away from those greedy thieves. I would pay much to get a record i'd like but not a single cent for a bootleg.
Also all of these Hot Metal ''rarities'' are bootlegs. They gave these cds free with magazines etc... So stay away...

Absolutely is a bootleg!I bought a copy, from No Remorse Records, back in 2005 for 10 euros!!!
Jewel case and a cardboard sleeve but it's still a bootleg ...
