ATOMIC ROOSTER was an English Heavy Rock band, originally formed by former members of the THE CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN.
Throughout their history, keyboardist Vincent Crane was the only constant member, and wrote the majority of their material.
Their history is defined by two periods: the early-mid-1970s and the early 1980s.
The band went through radical style changes, however they are best-known for the Hard Prog Rock sound of their hit singles, "Tomorrow Night" (UK No. 11) and "The Devil's Answer" (UK No. 4), both in 1971.
The band's initial run ended in 1974 after five studio albums.
Former members then went on to play with DAEMON, BULLET, HARD STUFF, THE INTELLEKTUALS, THIN LIZZY, CACTUS, RANDY PIE, EMERSON LAKE & PALMER, COLOSSEUM, DEXY'S MIDNIGHT RUNNERS, KATMANDU, HEADSTONE, THE WHO, NOVA, IBIS, LEAFHOUND, SKIN ALLEY, THE EXPLORERS, QANGO & ASIA.
The BBC Sessions is an album of archive studio session recordings made between 1970 and 1972 for various radio shows transmitted by BBC's Radio 1.
