The one and only full-length CD of Anubi released in 1997. This Lithuanian band created one of the most unique albums EVER! This is at times quite surreal and avantgarde. The riffing has thrash roots, but then becomes this blackish style similar to Master's Hammer, Mortuary Drape or Root. In fact I'd say the avantgarde nature of this album is matched only by early Master's Hammer. Strange riffs here and there that are almost in Voivod or Virus (nor) territory. Great basslines. Some stuff has a definitive folk feel to it. There's even a saxophone that makes an appearance (maybe a nod to Pan-Thy-Monium)
A masterpiece! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Full digipak and booklet scanned and ripped from my personal collection.
The band split up when in March 2002, the main driving force behind Anubi, Lord Ominous, died in a sailing accident on Lake Michigan. Members of Anubi and Nahash also formed Valefar.
