I'm not overly familiar with metal from this region, but an oldie I really like personally is Ahat from Bulgaria's album The March. Great stuff.

This has to be my favourite old school hard and heavy band from my country. Sounds a bit like some bands from the early English metal scene.



From Split, Croatia. This is their second, most famous album. This is more like a mix of hard, heavy and a bit od glam(?). Still, love it.
Personally, I prefer their first album still. Ulicna molitva, look it up.

Old Soviet band with weird (or ridiculous) name GORA NA KOTOROI RASTUT BOBY (A MOUNTAIN ON WHICH THE BEANS GROW) and quite an awesome heavy metal stuff actually.
