The word 'poseur' was firstly used by the second wave UK punks (the so-called "street punks") and skinheads, in order to describe those ones that were faux.

I don't think liking what is perceived as "real metal" alongside bands that are considered nu-metal, metalcore, glam/hair/pop metal (whatever term you use to describe that wave of bands), djent, etc., makes you some form of "poser" or "the enemy". Like what you like.
