I think it's impossible, if I only look at Ra Pariah's Lists, I see only releases that would get 10 on a ten-scale (Some a bit more) from me, but even then I start thinking: "Hmm, maybe I would take Helstars - Nosferatu instead of...." and so I another list containing a dozen of supreme releases. By the time I had compiled a list and send it off, I would be struck by lightning thinking "How could you forget..."

This is indeed supremely difficult. If I murdered a Linklin' Park fan in a rage and was sentenced to live on a desert island for the next 10 years and could only bring 10 albums, I think it would have to be these:

1. Helloween - first EP/Walls of Jericho/Judas EP (I'm cheatin' since the cd has all but not LP!)
2. Fates Warning - Awaken the Guardian
3. Queensryche - Rage for Order
4. Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
5. Metallica - Ride the Lightning
6. Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell
7. Mercyful Fate - Don't Break the Oath
8. Metal Church - Metal Church
9. Megadeth - Rust in Peace, no make that Peace Sells, no - Rust in Peace, no - Peace Sells, arrrggghhh!
10. Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny

Fuck, 10 already? And I snuck in the Helloween EPs and 2 Megadeths for 1! But Ra Pariah mentioned so many great albums - maybe Lethal - Programmed would be my number 11, and the rest of his list not far behind, plus so many other great ones ... but yeah, if i had to stop at 10 - the above list is as good as any. Have to flip a coin on the Megadeth. And in the right mood, I can prefer Powerslave or Killers or Piece of Mind or the s/t to NOTB ...

Man, this is really hard to choose but I think the following will be forever nailed into my heart...and to see Ra Pariah's and witchcross lists I am happy to see that we had a similar taste

...I think I had to choose hundreds more...including unknown and obscure releases, not only "mainstream" gems ...but these albums have blown my ears all over the 32 years now and I can't get enough of them

It's impressive that about 10 albums out of 20 are in my top 20 list as well, while 2-3 more are the same bands but different albums!
