new Saxon

What can I say, Saxon is Saxon,i just ordered cd from Amazon without listening to samples,i loved all recent records of theirs,so i expect another solid effort.

Got it on vinyl and it is what you would expect from recent Saxon which is solid old school heavy metal
Don't suppose it's going to get much attention as the band have never really got the plaudits they deserve but some of that was there own fault. Would recommend this to anyone on here and also last years double DVD

It's a good album, I enjoyed it. Nothing really flashy, just solid heavy-metal with some bluesy hard-rock moments, sort of an early-days feel to it. The double-DVD of last year is a must-see for all metalheads IMO!

Well, I'm into SAXON since the Wheels of steel, which simply took my breath away back then. Of course, a new SAXON Album cannot be a groundshaking experience as it was in 1980, you know too well, what to expect of them. But Call to arms is a real good release, highly enjoyable but you're not entering realms of music unknown before. You should go for the Double CD Digipack, the 1980 Donington Gig (excellent sound!!) breathes the spirit described in the Denim and leather-lyrics!

One of the greatest metal bands of all time. I guess there are less than 10 bands in Heavy Metal music with such a huge discography including so many great records. That's simply unique.

Can't tell anything about their live shows... one of the 10 best bands ever. Period.

The new album? Already got it on vinyl and it didn't fail me. Other "big" bands are releasing controversial albums.

I hear some Donnington stuff a few years ago and indeed :that was an amazing gig. Gonna check out the you tube about that
1980 gig. Wheels and Strong Arms are blue prints for generations of music making metalheads...

Just bought and listened album couple of times. IMO - solid album of a very good band . Not my top
band , but i everything enjoy them, when re-listening saxon's cds . About 80/100 per Met Ar scale.

I love Saxon but ever since the release of "The Inner Sanctum" it looks like they have nothing to offer. The new one has got to be one of there weakest efforts ever. I really enjoyed "Hammer of the Gods" but other than the open track there wasn't anything worth my time with this one.
