MUREN was founded in March 1986 in Blois and soon became one of the most famous Hard rock bands of the region. They are influenced by bands like IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST or HELLOWEEN. But MUREN developed its own abilities and musical identity, with their own powerful and melodic Heavy Speed. In 1988, they plan to release their first album on a franco-german label but the label disappeared before the album was released. In 1992, they self-produce a mini-CD which will be privately distributed but noticed by the specialised press. After some line-up changes, MUREN records new songs in 1996 for a new mini Cd with four tunes. These new compositions are more mature and they tour France intensively. Their first official CD is released on BRENNUS label at the end of 1998, under the title 'Lies'n tears'. For their 1999 tours, Lionel VIZERIE now replaces Alain COURTOIS (guitar).
