Metallica is an American thrash metal band originating from Los Angeles, but based in San Francisco since February 1983. It was founded in 1981 in Los Angeles by Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield, who would be joined by Dave Mustaine and Ron McGovney. These two musicians were later replaced by guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Cliff Burton respectively, Dave Mustaine was fired a year after joining the band due to his excessive addiction to alcohol and his violent attitude, being replaced by Kirk Hammett (ex-guitarist of Exodus). Ron resigns from the band due to Dave Mustaine's misbehavior, which was violent and troublesome when under the influence of alcohol. The last straw was when Mustaine soaked Ron's bass with beer, he inadvertently switched it on, receiving an electric shock. It is then, after contacting Cliff Burton that the band moves to San Francisco. (It should be noted that Ron knew that he was going to be fired and replaced by Cliff Burton).

The song "Hunger" is by Christian thrash metal-power metal band Eternal Decision. ... ision/5451
That was spread (when Napster was still going?) and the real band name was not attached, so everybody assumed it was a new secret recording of Dave Mustaine with Metallica
