SHADOW FLAME was a local Rochester, NY melodic black/death band that briefly existed from 1997-1998. The band members were avid listeners of my radio show SONIC INSANITY (1989-2004) and they sent me this rehearsal track in 1998. They also played a show and they sent me the tape of their live performance. It’s an edited Soundboard tape. They cut out the crowd banter between the songs. I don’t remember much about them, but I know 2 of the 4 members were named Ariel and Peter. This is probably all that exists of SHADOW FLAME. It’s decent melodic black/death with some acoustic passages, some guitar solo flair, tight drumming and prominent bass. They never recorded a demo.

Do not confuse them with SHADOWLORD, which was a short-lived demo band in 1996-97 whose members joined NIGHT CONQUERS DAY in 1998 and appear on the 2nd CD.
