Progressive metal band from Kansas City, Missouri.
The band originally formed in 1986 under the name ' Vengeance' by guitarists Jeff KIukow and Bryan Steward. Later that year, they acquired Ron Rogers (drums) and Brian Kibler (bass). Drawing infuence from bands like Iron Maiden and Queensrÿche, they played instrumentally in the KC metal scene for 2 years including a show at the Uptown in 1987. Their lineup would finally be complete in 1988 when Brian Kibler was replaced by Steve Huston (bass) and Troy Skinner joined the band as the lead vocalist. In early 1989, they played their first gig with a full line-up under the new name "Amethyst". In 1990, they recorded their first four song demo, "Amethyst (16) - The Trespasser". They quickly rose in rank playing top local venues. In 1992, Steve Kirubakaran replaced Steve Huston on bass and the band made its first "well produced" recording with the help of former Missouri drummer, Dan Billings.
This album is a collection of the two demos, one of which is unreleased, with a bonus track recorded on a separate occasion.
