Hexx , comeback album, Wrath Of The Reaper (2017)

It has been many years since HEXX released anything.
Their second album Under The Spell was one of my fave albums to blast after I discovered them via the Eastern Front compilation.
Excellent Bay Area band performing a power metal / thrash metal hybrid.
Always wondered what happened to them after they changed into a death/thrash act (which I did not care for).

    New lineup includes -
    original members -
John Shafer Drums, and Dan Watson Guitars
    with some new dudes -
    Eddy Vega Vocals
    Mike Horn Bass
Bobbie Wright Guitars (ex- Brocas Helm)

The new singer Eddy Vega is pretty good. He has an edgy / raspy / strained / slicing style, similar to Gored Kirchin (Piledriver) and Rob Haford (Judas Priest, eg.Screaming,Defenders,Painkiller).
Eddy might not be as full-sounding as Dan Bryant (Under The Spell LP), but he captures the same essence and we can live that mid-80s era all over again.
The music will be acceptable to fans of the first two HEXX albums, and early-mid 1980s NWOBHM, and true Amercian heavy metal (not that glam stuff).
HEXX are not as "thrashy" on Wrath Of The Reaper, as in the past, and that is great!
    Why ?
because THIS is real power metal, like Exciter, Cities, Nasty Savage, Lääz Rockit, Malice, and Metal Church !

They made a FANTASTIC job, seriously. New stuff but feels just like 80's, "real" as you said. They're also on spotify, we should stream to support!

I am very curious to hear what this sounds like. I am usually disappointed 99% of the time with reformed bands. For instance, the reformed Blood Feast sucks and I was expecting something great. So I usually expect the worst now. I'll have to check this out if I can find it.
