Virtually unknown comeback album from 2009 featuring the worst excuse for artwork I've ever seen!!

Hard Rockers DIRTY TRICKS formed in 1974 and three delivered unpretentious Hard Rock albums for the Polydor label. The band debuted live at London's Marquee Club as openers to DUX DELUXE during January of 1975. DIRTY TRICKS debuted with an eponymous Rodger Bain produced set promoted by support tours in the UK to both ARGENT and BUDGIE.

In June of 1975 Australian drummer John Lee, a former member of DINGOES, BLACKFEATHER and ARIEL, joined the fold. Lee would quit following the third album 'Hit And Run' and was superseded by Andy Bierne. Tony Visconti would be on hand to produce the band's second effort. Touring for this release would witness British support dates to the STREETWALKERS and gigs across America as guests to CHEAP TRICK, BLUE OYSTER CULT and BOB SEGAR. The group bowed out in 1977 with 'Hit And Run', another Visconti produced affair.

After the group had finally called it quits the Binnie / Horbury / Bierne triumvirate put in some rehearsals with OZZY OSBOURNE, then having just decamped from BLACK SABBATH. This proposed band folded as Osbourne duly rejoined BLACK SABBATH.

Bassist Terry Horbury would then join VARDIS in 1983, guitarist John Frazer Binnie wound up joining the high profile ROGUE MALE in the early 80s. Bierne eventually turned up in PRAYING MANTIS, SCORCHED EARTH, GRAND PRIX and 1987's DORIAN GRAY. Stewart meantime hooked up with erstwhile SIDEWINDER and STALLION guitarist STUART SMITH to found FRENCH KISS, a band unit completed by drummer Kelvin 'Yatta' Yates. Stewart and Smith later relocated to America forging INFORMER.

DIRTY TRICKS members Binnie, Horbury and Stewart evolved into tribute band STAIRWAY TO ZEPPELIN during the 90s fronted by one 'Robert Planet' a.k.a Kenny Stewart. Majestic Rock Records re-issued all three DIRTY TRICKS albums in 2004, all boasting extra studio and live tracks.

In a surprise move, DIRTY TRICKS returned to action in 2009 to record new album tracks dubbed 'Up At The 9 Count'. The band unit comprised John Fraser-Binnie, Kenny Stewart along with new recruits bassist Fingerthumbs and drummers Richard Marcanjelo and Reuben O'Donoghue.

    EDIT:
removed the block of info/links I inserted from original post at the top to not clutter it up anymore.

    Hi riptorn,
yes, that is a link I gave at the top of the page, and asked if it is a legal sale?
I left this in album limbo with the question, and another mod approved the topic, as they probably can't find the info either.
Can you show me an official Dirty Tricks band website that links them to itunes?

itunes has been caught illegally selling music, and I will not willingly go along with any large corporation that steals.
I want PROOF first from now on, that the digital files there are legal.
Indie labels, like Divebomb/Tribunal Records, or Dark Descent, are more trustworthy to buy digitally from (eg.their bandcamp sites), as the bands and their diehard fans would have links on many sites.

Everybody says that blogpsots and forums/websites that share music for free are terrible, but isn't it worse for somebody to make money off a band, pretending it is the right thing, and the band doesn't even get paid? maybe not even asked their permission?

Also, I will NEVER use iTunes. It is a faulty program.
I installed iTunes 2 different times to try it, and it fucked up 2 different PC's.
I had to reinstall Windows TWICE, so to hell with iTunes anyways.
    Cheers.

Sorry spaceman, i missed your links at the top of the page.
I'd assumed until now that everything for sale on iTunes was legitimate & that the artists/rights holder in question had given their permission & therefore received an agreed upon royalty from sales, but i'm guessing now from what you've said that i was being naieve.
As i don't have iTunes installed i've never browsed the iTunes store so my preconceptions were never challenged until now.
If i remember rightly there was a Dirty Tricks blog online @ the time they resurrected the name, but i don't recall the site's name & if you haven't been able to find anything through your searches it probably no longer exists anyway.

    All

This was deleted in 2011 after singer Kenny Stewart went solo. It was only ever available as a CDR or via download from a very poor website that appeared then disappeared again in 2009.

If it is available via itunes then it is not authorised by anyone associated with the band who only existed in this form for less than a year 2009-2010

    hope this helps?

Superb EGGNISH thanx a lot!! If like me you love their classic 70's efforts you 'll surely enjoy this one too!! Not some bored vets re-uniting to fill their time!! They still sound fresh, energetic and deliver a very good selection of tunes(#5 especially), blending HARD ROCK, BOOGIE ROCK and even SOUTHERN elements( some cool slide leads...)!!!
A great outcome of pure HARD ROCK!! CHEERS for the goodies man!! porosimetal
