Darkaura from Prato (Italy) were unofficially born in 1995 when three classmates, Lorenzo "Pierock" Pierini (lead guitars), Luca Razzai (drums) and Fabrizio Bove (Keyboards, also in local black metallers Burian) started a project without name influenced by classic metal bands (Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden Megadeth) as well as first gothic metal bands such as Anathema, My Dying Bride, Paradise lost and with touches of italian progressive hard rock and dark sounds. Soon comes Francesco Menicocci on bass (later in the renewed line up of Tonio Scatigna & La Gatta Da Pelare, a cult local demential hard rock/metal band)
From summer 1995 to early 1996 there is Alessandro Bandera on vocals, an eclectic guy who also played drums in Burian and Sigillum Dei Ameth (another local black/gothic band who released quite a rare demo tape in 1998) who is soon replaced by Emanuele Tempestini as singer and rhythm guitarist.
This line-up (Pierini-Razzai-Bove-Menicocci-Tempestini) will last until the end, which happened in 1998, after winning a prestigious summer trophy for emerging local bands in 1997 and recording the only demo tape, "Aura del cielo" in summer 1997
They re-united for a one-night show in 2011 with the same line-up and there's recent talking of resuming activities again
