Before I delve into this album, I feel I must briefly discuss Eloy. They released 9 consecutive great albums from 1971-1981. Not an easy feat. I tend to break these 9 albums into 3 groups of 3. The 1st 3 are more psychedelic/prog, even some krautrock sound, and it evolved and become more spacey/symphonic and proggy. The next 3 albums all look similar in their LP layout and sound. A much more refined Symphonic/Space/Prog Rock sound had been created and they shined. This album is the first in this 2nd stage. The 3rd stage is the 7th-9th albums which I already shared that continued to progress and get better with each album as they further created symphonic epics with many elements of Space Rock and precise Prog Rock inspired heavily by early 70's Pink Floyd.

This is an exquisite specimen of music! Eloy has a sound that many others were inspired by. They have long epic songs that have long build-ups with magnificent keyboards and vocals (with a nice German accent). Everything is rich, sometimes Space Rocky, and fluid. Parts of the lyrics are narrated, most are sung. They have very dreamy song structures very reminiscent of Pink Floyd (like on "Echoes" or "Careful With That Axe, Eugene"). This was the last album to have Krautrock touches. The next 2 albums got better, and better....
