As great as this album is, I am not a fan of the artwork at all. Anyways....Equal parts GREAT Space Rock mixed with Krautrock! Other songs are blistering heavy rock that border on proto-metal. Definitely Black Sabbath inspired ("Paranoid" album). Prog is a definitive overall encompassing term for what this band were doing in 1971. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
The opening track on their self-titled LP certainly lives up to the album's reputation: a 13-minute epic of dark, heavy space rock with crunching guitars and acid riffs, distorted vocals, lots of long droning keyboards - imagine a mix of early PINK FLOYD ("One of These Days") and THIRSTY MOON. However, the rest of the album (or most of it) is fairly heavy rock. Some songs are very trippy like maybe something Amon Duul II would churn out. A lost gem!
