Iron Horse / Heatstroke Bio (from heatstroke.de)
HEATSTROKE's origin goes back into the year 1982. At that time Heinz Kreusel (Drums/Lead-Vocals) and Christian Kreusel (Guitar/Vocals) decided to mix up the Hard & Heavy scene in Germany. They found two rockers of a metal in Martin Müller (Bass) and Tom Reich (Guitar/Vocals). Henceforth they called themselves IRON HORSE. Their creative potential beared some hopeful hardrock / metal material which was produced a.o. by Manfred Lohse (UDO LINDENBERG). Backed by numerous good reviews in European rock fanzines IRON HORSE's popularity increased in Europe year by year. The band was also supported by airplay from radio stations in the USA. After serveral successful years IRON HORSE splitted up in 1989.
After many years without any fixed formation the founders of IRON HORSE resolved to start a new project. HEATSTROKE was born. Christian and Heinz were looking for appropriate musicians. Finally Peter Ebner (Guitar / Vocals) and Hubert Grasser (Bass) joined the band. After Christian had written enough songs time had come for recording. For that plan the band found the best conditions in the Karlsruher PSYCHO SOUND Studios. There they produced the album "CENSORED" from Sept. 1997 till April 1998. During that time Ralf "Lord" Leutmann joined the band for playing the keyboard parts. "CENSORED" got very well reviews in relevant rock magazines. In 2000 the former MINESTONE keyboarder Franz Schimpfhauser came into the band as successor for Ralf Leutmann. With their new line-up HEATSTROKE enthused the audience as supporting act for CROWN OF THORNS in the Club Garage, Kunstpark Ost, Munich in October 2002. After a period of four year the band broke up with Franz Schimpfhauser.
