Not my rip here, but given to me by an excellent source that also gave me SHEER GREED's demo and SCREAMER before I tracked down the tapes for myself (including the ONE SINGLE COPY of Screamers Dragons demo to survive the masters and their gear being robbed and lost forever. One copy was sent out for radio play and Dofka asked me to find it back in the day. And I F*cking did! This one I still dont own sadly but DAMN Scot's vocals rule as always. He sings on DOFKA-Toxic Wasteland as well as Sheer Greed and THIS TORTURED SOUL (2 albums, one demo, with Chuck now of TROUBLE!).

hi50metalmaniac wrote:Dude do you actually have the Dragons demo? That's almost impossible to believe! I mean it's like one of the holy grails of heavy metal demos. I don't even think any of the band members has heard it since they got robbed. Did they ever find out who stole the masters?

Yes, I own the only existing copy. Jim has heard it since I gave it to him. I own Give All Your Might and 1990 demo as well. Jim knows who stole the masters, but hes never been caught. He was their producer, he wanted to rob all their gear and shit it was just circumstance that the masters went with him too. However, about a week earlier right after the production was completed and it first became ready for release one copy was made to give a promoter at a local radio station. It had a typewritten J-Card and a direct Master-Tape transfer of Give All Your Might on the B-Side. He recieved it, it aired, got a great response, and shortly after before the (KILLER) artwork was completed the producer skipped town with everything. Jim also sent the promoter an audition tape he recieved from a band he just decided to join but hadnt recorded with yet, BRICK MISTRESS. He just threw it in the package and forgot about it. In 2004 Jim told me the story of the one copy and said hed looked forever and never found the guy and couldnt remember his name or the name of the radio show. We both went out looking, it was on!!

3 years later I recieved an email from someone saying they saw some posts online and wondering if I was interested in buying some Ohio-PA related demo tapes. He said a relative of his had just passed away and had a whole collection local bands tapes from his days hosting a radio show. I told him whatever he had Id take a lot of it and to not tell anyone else or go to ebay until I saw the full list. The list he sent me made my F*cking jaw drop.

A few weeks later and a few hundred dollars later I recieved SCREAMER - DRAGONS, BRICK MISTRESS - AUDITION TAPE 1987 (These rips were stolen from me on soulseek without my knowledge and uploaded here, see one of my angry rants about it), TILT - s/t demo, RAGING GRACE - Pre-Mix Demo 1989 and a few other sweet tapes. Jim hadnt heard it in so long he actually completely forgot some of the songs existed. Per the bands wishes I cant share it (the Audition tape was never supposed to be shared either!!). Ill take a pic and put it up here. Ive posted pics of the Brick Mistress audition tape, POW demo and Rise Or Fall demos on here already.

And it may seem like a holy grail of Metal but it is of equal value with a couple other things I have (I.E. the only copy known to exist). Such as HELL - Scheming Demons/Demo #1 with J-card in Dave Hallidays handwriting (featuring STUDIO CUTS of Intense Is The Sense Of Doom and No Martyrs Cage) and SAVE US 7" WITH BOOKLET (they all were meant to have the booklet instead of a sleeve, but none did. Includes pics, Save Us lyrics, and recording credits and liner notes for the 7" (Also have tons of original photos/flyers too). I also have the ARC live tape (stolen rips uploaded here again), War Of The Ring 7" and 4 original full size ARC posters.
In my eyes nothing tops MISTREATER/SCARUM - FULL DISCOGRAPHY including THE TRUE HOLY GRAIL Mistreater - Unreleased Dem0 1983. I spoke to Curt Leudy when I was 17 and got my Swami vinyl for free from him and asked him about the song Beelzebub i heard a horrible quality copy SonicBludgeon (Jay) had got from an unknown source, and the tape tore as he was ripping it. Curt said it does not exist. A few years later of searching and it was mine.
Also THE MEZMERIST - Innocent The Forsaken & The Guilty 12" signed with "Hey Kenny-I Love You Bro! -MEZO" that i got for free after a 2 year hunt finished with VICTORY (read about it in Decibel Magazine, google "The Mezmerist Found By Kenny". Also MYSTIK - BURNT OFFERINGS demo handed to me by Roy after I jammed with the classic Mystik lineup on the very first day they jammed since their original run. And the HOLY TRINITY of LEGEND - FROM THE FJORDS LP, MERCENARY 7" and MERCENARY - Tribute Cassette. I could keep going.

Im very proud of the work I have done in my short life. I turned 24 September 1st and for example I recieved my first Christmas card from Ace The Raven of Severe Warning and his wife Tina 10 years ago. Ive known Dofka for 11. DIGGING FOR STEEL is my lifes work and I take my work very seriously. Hence my anger at certain rips I put in hard work and in some cases big money to get getting put up on Lockjaw and later all over the web by people have no idea where they came from and all these people thinking they DID ANYTHING to drag those rips up from the depths of the underground besides a few clicks on soulseek when they absolutely did not and would have NO IDEA where to turn to actually find such material.

PS- No offence to anyone who re-posted my rips after they were all over. I dont want to sound like Im attacking anyone, except Strad, F*ck him for sharing some of my personal HOLY GRAILS and things the bands said to never spread (and thought I did when they went up). All my other rips besides those few very valuable ones I never cared if they spread around the web. I was happy to see my rips of JAGGED EDGE up on Vibrations Of Doom. But to share some of what was shared without my knowledge really offended me, and I wanted to make my story known and show the online Heavy Metal community the fruits of my research and work. Ive dedicated my life to this, as well as playing and teaching drums and recording/producing/promoting local bands i like with my own INFERNAL TRINITY RECORDS free of charge if I think they deserve to be heard. In the future The Mezmerist and I plan to record an EP together, maybe in the next year or two. LOOK OUT!!!!!! :)

Anyway sorry for the tangent. Screamer pic comin up!!

    EDIT------------------------------------------------------------------
Took forever for me to find these in my fuckin basement but here they are. :) Also included is a cool GIVE ALL YOUR MIGHT cd a friend of the band made a few of for some ex-Screamer members to show people the band in the late 90s.

My friend i don't know who you are but you are a legend! Your collection must be massive. I'm a young guy like you and my sorry ass collection is miniscule compared to yours. I don't own any of the rare stuff that you have in your possession. I wouldn't even know where to begin to be honest. And being broke (too many bills) makes it nearly impossible for me to build up my collection. That's why i appreciate guys like you and Emil so much who are willing to share all of this amazing music that would otherwise never be heard by the masses. My uploads bro, the vast majority i got from lockjaw and i honestly have no clue who the original uploaders are. That's why i thanked all these people in my sig. I appreciate all the work you guys do. Anyway, i look forward to your future uploads and valuable information about all the bands that you know or have worked with.

Yes. Dragons has different lyrics and vocal structure then the version sung by Scot Edgell (Rampage, Sheer Greed, Dofka, This Tortured Soul),
Leave Me Alone appeared on Dofka's Bow To Thee demo with this vocalist but the original version is faster and it works a lot better here (not that I dont love every track on Bow To Thee, ive covered half of them with my band in high school)
Theres a instrumental cut of Ive Been Around that Jim found around 04 idk if you guys would have ever got it (someone tell me, did it show up on soulseek with the rest of my shit? I found out a lot more of my shit went up then I thought making lots of problems with trading for me.)
The Dragons demo's version of Ive Been Around has full lyrics/vocals.
Trust is such an old song little known song that Jim told me he forgot it even existed until I got this tape!
Cant Make It Alone also has completely different lyrics/structure as the version on the original Toxic Wasteland (its omitted completely from the re-press)
Its Screamer's best stuff I think, the 1990 Demo is of course classic Chet but it doesnt have the guitar wizardry of Jim (he had moved to Brick Mistress by then....I guess the Dragons demo robbery was really F*cked up to deal with not shocking he wanted a fresh start in a new band after that.

You guys are fans of Scot's vocals, eh? Do you guys have This Tortured Soul's 2 CDs and Demo tape? And do you have pre-Rampage band Sheer Greed's Roadkill demo? Qualitys not the best but I love Scot i was super excited to get it from the guy who made the Screamer cd in that pic, a former bandmate of many of Jim's bandmates. Hes an excellent vocalist he can sing in many different voices and styles from rough growl vocals to his cover song voices where he does excellent Ozzy, Dio, Dickinson impressions :) He rules!
