Betlemi (Georgian for “Bethlehem”) was founded in Keda in 1987. The band started playing traditional heavy metal, but suddenly the progressive rock influences walked in and changed band’s orientation towards the original synthesis of symphonic rock/heavy metal combined with their unique vision of Georgian folklore.

After a couple of line-up changes, the band went on to record its only album in 1992. A very original record I must say with fresh ideas and constant tempo changes, reminding me a bit of Northwind's "Mythology" in places or Sarissa's self titled album.

Thanks once again to a great guy from Georgia, we now have the chance to listen to this unique piece of art. Enjoy!
