Very interesting late-USSR heavy metal band with strong female vocals recorded in 1989 and released in 1990 on vinyl only by the state-run "Melodiya" Records. It should be mentioned for those already familiar with the band that picture I uploaded to present this release is in fact front cover of their debut 7'' single. Actual LP cover isn't worth posting here: it's a tribute to Viktor Veckstein, late husband of the frontwoman, Antonina Zhmakova, who is said to have suffocated on January 18, 1990 while having sex with his mistress inside his vehicle in a locked garage. Viktor Veckstein famed himself as a manager of the most prominent Soviet heavy metal band Aria. Those interested can have a look at the LP cover here.
In order to dot all the i's here is an official, i.e. printed on the LP artwork, name of the band: "Viktor Veckstein and the "Octopus" band" - I just shortened it to faciliate perception)
Line-up:
Antonina Zhmakova - vocals /Soviet folk diva and actress (since 1965) that turned into metal lady in late 1980s/
Sergej Kordier - guitars
Alexey Zlatoustov - bass
Alexander Smirnov - keyboards
Nikolaj Balakirev - drums
