Chinawite were previously known as No Escape and the line-up listed above is that which formed in 1983 following two changes of bassist.
Chinawite recorded a session for the local radio station Radio Hallam, securing themselves club gigs and the 'Blood On The Streets' single release through Future Earth.

In August 1983 Chinawite contributed two tracks to the 'Metal Prisoners' compilation album on Mausoleum, which in turn led to an album deal. The result was the 'Run For Cover' album, which was produced by Kevin Maloney. Cover artwork was by Garry Sharpe-Young.
