Hey look what I've found (!!!)

SIEGE formed in 1984, from the ashes of young UK based rock band 'Orion'. Influenced by Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Venom and the incredible NWOBHM scene of the time, Ray Lawrence, Dave Glover & Al Stringer recruited 16 year old Sharon Thompson as lead singer and set to work creating a new band with a unique sound and powerful set of original material.

Playing live as often as possible, SIEGE became a regular name on the southern Rock & Metal circuit, headlining their own gigs and supporting many bands including Marseille, Geneva, Jokers Wild, Truffle, Explorer and others. On January 1985, SIEGE released their debut single 'Goddess of Fire'/'Don't Punish Me' on their own THM (True Hampshire Metal) label. The release coincided with live dates in London, Guildford & Portsmouth, and helped build the band's following. Original copies of 'Goddess of Fire' are considered a NWOBHM collectors item and regularly sell on auction sites at £40+

SIEGE went through a number of line up changes before calling it a day in 1987 but continued to be a popular and successful live act, appearing regularly at London's legendary Marquee Club and recording a session for Radio 1's Friday Rock Show.

Very sadly, Sharon Thompson passed away in June 2010 following a short illness. Reuniting to pay tribute to Sharon at a Charity Concert in June 2011, original SIEGE members Ray Lawrence, Dave Glover & Al Stringer made the decision to Re-Ignite the band with original and new material and head back on the road in 2012
