Valkyrie formed in 1985 in Metairie, Louisiana. The band recorded a 4-track demo at Southlake Studios in Metairie and it was engineered by Steve Himelfarb who had just finished working for Capitol Records on Fates Warning's "Awaken the Guardian" release. They broke up shortly after the recording of this demo.

Saw them open for Celtic Frost and VoiVod in New Orleans in like 1985 or so....Running Wild was supposed to play but didn't show, so Valkyrie played. I went on to be friends with Jay and Gary, as I was also in a local band.

They also went on to play in Christ Inversion with Phil Anselmo, and also played in local band Graveyard Rodeo together.
