German musician/guitarist, audio engineer and record producer, born May 20, 1950.
The Seventh Step" was finished and released in 1976 by Nova, and a second solo album entitled "Tollhouse" was completed and released by Nova in 1978, also with Dirk Steffens on guitar, and featuring Cussick and Kohler, as well as guest guitarist Peter Wiehe. A lot of both solo record's song titles were referring to personal things from Steffens' own life.
Very cool 3-piece German hard rock outfit lead by guitarist Dirk Steffens, who a few years prior was a short term member of Birth Control, appearing on that bands 'Rebirth' album. He is backed by Ian Cussick(bass/vocals), and Rolf Koeler(drums/vocals). The back cover also credits guitarist Rainer Baumann (ex-Frumpy) for his soloing on the song "Elysa".
This is guitar dominated hard rock, sometimes resembling mid-70's Scorpions or UFO, while at the same time not being overly derivative of those bands. Highly recommended!
