TANGENT were a six piece US Rock band from Frankfort, Kentucky,
Formed in the mid 70's around the musical talents of the 3 Parrish brothers, Ronnie, Tommy & Jim, they fused elements of Hard Rock, Prog & AOR into their own take on what was known as Pomp Rock.
Ably assisted by multi instrumentalist Brian Butler & the rhythm section of Rob Parker on bass & drummer Bill Torsell, the band released their lone LP 'Pathway To Paradise' on the Lemco label in 1979.
The A Side contained their more concise & commercial material whilst the flipside featured an ambitious four-song 'suite' linked under the umbrella title of 'The Story'.
A 45 was also issued the same year on the Homestead label, pairing '(Got It) Flaunt It' & You Are (The One)'.
'(Got It) Flaunt It' was also selected by Kentucky radio station WKQQ 98 to be the opening track on their 'Home Spun, Too', a Various Artists compilation album featuring local bands, also released in 1979.
Unfortunately, despite making quite a splash that year, there were to be no further releases from the group & none of it's six members seem to have resurfaced later in any other bands
