    Info:
This band is none other than Icon before taking its name and this is the first reason to hunt the record. The second reason is that apart from three very good hard rockers the record contains one of the best early US metal songs in history! "Mean streak machine" is an amazing fast tempo song that many British bands of the time would die for! A real experience... (Rarity grading 5 out of 6 - Almost impossible to find! - from http://www.metalpage.de/reviews/usa/sch ... outin.html)

thanks Jason, I had the first ICON lp back in the day and, though a bit on the commercial side for my tastes at the time, I still quite liked it, it had a good degree of heaviness. The followup was terrible though. But the first is a good album and looking forward to hearing this early material.

Sacreddeath my friend, maybe you need to check first what's already here in this forum (or at Strappadometalblog with valid links).
I uploaded this release 3 weeks ago (viewtopic.php?f=47&t=4684&hilit=Schoolboys).
No problem with me - I don't think Strappado likes double topics with same releases! :/

Thanks man. I haven't heard this yet, but I can't help but wonder if the song "Mean Street Machine" is the same song done by King Kobra on their King Kobra III. King Kobra also did this same song on a rarities disc with Marq Torien (later with Bulletboys) singing on it. It would not surprise me if it was the same song. Kick Axe, King Kobra, and Icon all had the same management, which accounts for why King Kobra recorded the song "Hunger," which was originally a Kick Axe song. Kick Axe also recorded the song under the name Spectre General on the Transformers soundtrack. I guess I'll see when I download it.
