I LOVE YOU were a 4 piece American Hard Rock band formed in Hollywood, California in 1988 from the remains of the Orlando, Florida based Punk/Metal band, SINFUL PIGEONS.
The group's original members were Jeff Nolan, Chris Palmer, Aaron Rubin, and Elliott Crawford.
Musically they were similar in style to the likes of SAIGON KICK & LIQUID JESUS with whom they played several shows, blending Hard Rock with some Psychedelic influences.
They had a song featured on the Various Artists compilation album 'The Melting Plot' released by SST Records in 1988, then recorded the 5 song 'Live' EP for Medusa Records in 1989.
A video was made for the EP's opening song 'Steppin' On Baby', but it was ultimately banned by MTV because of some footage which had been shot in a cemetery.
A further song was then released on the Various Artists 'Tantrum' LP on Cocktail Records in early 1990, before new bassist Mike Kossler joined in place of ex-PAINTED WILLIE man Phil Newman and Tom Sweet replaced C.I. on the drums.
After a heated bidding war between several major labels, I Love You signed with Geffen Records in the summer of 1990, releasing their self-titled full length debut album in the spring of 1991, which received rave reviews in the rock press.
The band then headed out on tour with likes of 7 SECONDS & PEARL JAM, and appeared on Rick Dees nationally syndicated 'Into The Night' TV show performing 'Hang Straight Up'.
Their second and final Geffen Records album, 'All Of Us', was belatedly released in Spring 1994, but following a string of dates supporting RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS & a short headlining club tour in support of the record, I Love You sadly broke up in the summer of 1995.
Of the bands members, the only one to subsequently reappear on record was singer Chris Palmer who appeared on 4 songs on the 2004 MASTERS OF REALITY album 'Give Us Barrabus'.
A one-off I Love You/Sinful Pigeons reunion took place onstage at the Taste Club in Orlando, Florida on the 5th of 2007.
Sadly, Phil Newman who played bass on I Love You's pre-Geffen recordings passed away on February 22nd, 2015.
