Here is some bandinfo:
2002
The band "Reapers" was formed in May 2002, when Luca Calegaro and Francesco Lilla met the drummer Dario Pittarello and started playing together as a Metallica cover band. Originally the band was made of four members, but just two months later, the rythm guitar, Carmine De Franco, left the group and "Reapers" remained in three. Unable of continuing in their cover project because of the missing second guitar, the band started playing its own music and betweem July and August were written 5 tracks for the first demo "METALNESS", recorded at the "NoBrain Studios" (Venezia) on December 16th and 17th, with the rythm guitar/singer Luca that covered also the parts for the lead guitar.
2003
With the new year, Luca got in touch with Stefano Crivellari, a lead guitar coming from a Steve Vai's tribute band, who joined the group in January and made "Reapers" getting back to the original formation. Immediately, the band continued to play their own music and other six songs were written in the time between January and April; five of them were then added to the previously recorded demo. In April, "Reapers" signed with Dead Sun Records for the production of their first cd, "METALNESS", recorded and mixed during the month of may at “No Brain Studios” (Venezia).
2004
Febraury 11th, 2004: “Metalness” was released by Dead Sun Records. In march, the band started to work with “Skateboard Marketing” from New York, an indipendent music marketing company that focuses on radio promotion in the United States; from june to august, the cd “Metalness” had been on air in 500 radio stations spread through the Country, giving the band the chance to enter into american metal charts and thus gaining the 34th place in the U.S. national chart.
2005
The band starts to work on their new album. In the first six months of the year, 7 tracks have been written. It' s also the year of the first participation to a metal festival: this happens on june 24 th in Tolmin ( Slovenia ) at Metal Camp festival, where the group had the chance to play with many famous bands. Also, Reapers went for their first time playing abroad, in Belgium on September 16 th and 17 th. In December the band finished writing all their tracks for their upcoming second album.
2006
The drummer Dario Pittarello decides to leave the band for other projects and his place is taken by the new band's friend Giacomo Sandon. This change in the line-up makes the band delaying the recording session for the new album. In march, Reapers entered their studio to start the new work and the recording lasted untill may. In the meantime, the band went for the second time to Belgium for other two shows.
2007
After shows in England, Bulgaria, Belgium and having seen two festivals been cancelled for organization problems, the band decided to take a break and to concentrate on the new album "World in chains" which was totally produced and recorded at Reapers' "HQ". Thanx to great efforts, in august Australia was be reached for some thrashing dates together with some of the greatest local bands.
Unfortunately after the australian tour, the guitarist left the band and the others followed in 2008.
2008/2009
Luca, the original singer, is still continuing to promote Reapers' music and many cool news will come up in the next months. Check myspace.com/reapers for more!
