    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The compilation was a sampling of various better-known artists of the NWOBHM, primarily
known for having some of the earliest recorded material by heavy metal legends IRON MAIDEN.
The album reached #12 on the British LP charts and became the basis of a tour by the artists
who contributed songs to the compilation. IRON MAIDEN, who headlined the tour, became largely
intertwined with the history of Sanctuary Records (whose namesake was the similarly named Iron
Maiden track on the compilation), now a major metal label.

Engineered by Ron Hill & Dave Flower at EMI Studios, Manchester Square (except *)
Executive production and compilation by Ashley Goodall. Design & art Direction by Rob Burt.
Illustration by Peter Campbell. Review + More Info at The Corroseum.

This album brings back sweet memories of the time I heard first IRON MAIDEN or ANGEL WITCH, SAMSOM... . Certainly a foundationstone of musical education! Those were the times when nearly every band on a sampler was exiting and, most important, an original.

I was lucky enough to catch a Metal For Mutha's gig, at the Lyceum Ballroom, London, nice one thanks.
