Great US prog metal from the early 90's!

I got this from the forner drummer, Lou Caldarola (also ex. Soundscape). I didn't ask him if I could put it up here,
but I hope he's okay with that.
I did try to get this band into Metal Archives, but my submission is still "pending" after having been turned down once
because "there was no proof of a physical release."

    History (from Lou Caldarola)
Dominion formed from the leftovers of Wintersong, Bill had long felt a desire to change to an acoustic guitar/vocalist and
brought on 2 of Lou's recording buds ( Joe and Cass) to round out the lineup and become Dominion.
The band played a number of shows through the east coast and released 2 short demos which were then put together to be
released as the self titled demo tape.
The band was met with quite a positive following and review of the material. After a few short years the band called it quits
after what was sited as "creative differences" and the ultimate move of Bill retiring from live rock performance just as the band was
drawing the attention of the current prog-rock/metal scene...

    Bill Rogers - Vocals,Acoustic guitars
    Joe Cseko - Electric guitars
    Joe Casatelli - Bass guitar
    Lou Caldarola - Drums,vocals,percussion

Thanks to Lou Caldarola for the demo.

No proof? wtf... the proof is right here.. if a sample, tracklist, line-up and scans don't prove a physical what does? do you have to send them the fucking tape? :D. So much other non-existing crap are on there so why not accept a release that actually exist.

    Thanks for posting btw :)

They seem to have become more strict lately.

I wrote what they replied to Lou Caldarola and he replied: "LOL...Wow, sounds like some real anal folks over there! ... "alleged release" ? No, i just made the whole band and demo up the other night to send it to you ;-p"

Then he sent me photos of the CD demos and I posted them in the Metal Archives forum. Still nothing has happened...

How are you supposed to prove that an obscure demo was released in the late 80's or early 90's?

Thanks for finding this excellent stuff, Danneq! (headbang) I've played both this demo and the Wintersong demo a lot since you posted them, shame they didn't get further. Wonder how Dream Theater would have turned out with Bill Rogers behind the mic instead of Labrie. You wouldn't happen to know if he has done anything else, did he just disappear from the entire music scene?

Sorry for the late reply, MetalMusicLover. I'm not sure but I think that Bill Rogers quit music alltogether and that Lou Caldarola is the only one from the band who's still active in the music business.

Rogers sound closer to Dominici than to LaBrie. Perhaps DT would have been less cheesy, as they sometimes can be with LaBrie, but Rogers is (was) a bit more limited than LaBrie. In a way, LaBrie's over the top style of singing fits DT's over the top style of music. Still, I like Dominici's singing and When Dream and Day Unite is my second favorite DT album after Awake...

I'm having the EXACT same problem... The Savannah thrash band Dominion (late 80's through mid 90's) has three demo tapes out that I have in .wav format... Uploaded covers, song titles, everything and all were rejected... Yeah, I just MADE UP three demos... I need to talk to someone over at the Encyclopedia Metallum... Dunno how you "make up" three early 90's sounding demos!!!
