Following up their 2016 release Satan’s Heavy Metal, Aggressive Perfector’s debut full length, Havoc At The Midnight Hour, finds the English trio in resolutely evil form as they take a major step forward on their path of destruction.Embracing a wealth of haunted sounds and textures, this sepulchral slab of metal conjures an atmosphere rich in the romantic repugnance of horror’s past masters which it uses the setting for a 37 minute nightmare of nocturnal menace, occult fascination and bloody vengeance.

Summoning the ghosts of Metal past – Tank, Slayer, Venom and Mercyful Fate all playing a part- Havoc… fixates on the nuclear fury of an apocalyptic future, from which it culls new ways to pervert the course of heavy metal in the present.Follow Aggressive Perfector into the nightmare when Havoc At The Midnight hour is released on November 1st.

Not only for the purpose of restocking our nearly gone self-released vinyl, not as plain second pressing or re-release, we used this happy chance to bring you the reworked & advanced label edition. DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present IRON CURTAIN's highly anticipated fourth album, Danger Zone, on CD, vinyl LP, cassette tape and digital formats.

For the past decade, Spain's IRON CURTAIN have become a veritable institution in the international true-metal underground. Road to Hell, their debut album from 2012, set the stage for their successive scene dominance. Forged in the fires of the early '80s, IRON CURTAIN's sound set forth a smorgasboard of grit and gleam equally, largely nodding to the eternal Motörhead as well as Tank, but also Canadian gods like Exciter and Razor, to the Teutonic might of early Iron Angel and Grave Digger, to Scandinavian gods OZ and Heavy Load, to cult American icons Abattoir and Savage Grace. Indeed, none more true were IRON CURTAIN - and they were here to stay! Two more revered full-lengths followed - 2013's Jaguar Spirit and 2016's Guilty as Charged - but now IRON CURTAIN are about to lift the veil on their most rocking record yet.

Fans since the beginning, DYING VICTIMS is honored to unleash that hot rocker in the form of Danger Zone, arguably IRON CURTAIN's magnum opus. Scaling back the speed that characterized the band earlier on, here do IRON CURTAIN work the sweet-spot mid-tempo, maximizing space and shade within these overtly more melodic gems. The production on Danger Zone is especially exquisite, retaining an era-authentic grittiness without sacrificing any latent heaviness. Not that "heaviness" per se is the prime directive on LP#4 - although, ripping opener "Wildlife" would suggest otherwise - rather, the cooly cruising dynamic these eight anthems take is far more suited to fist-shaking and pint-raising instead of thrashing like a maniac. Thus, hooks are huge, and any perceived "cleaning up" of the production pays off across these 33 electric minutes, culminating in the mesmerizingly moody climactic closer "Lonewolf."

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HEXENBRETT’s debut ooutput, Erste Beschwörung, on Mini LP and digital formats. Originally self-released at the end of 2018, this first summoning of the macabre HEXENBRETT is surely one of 2019’s most nefarious recordings.

HEXENBRETT is an entity that provides cemetery sounds exclusively. The first invocation, fittingly entitled Erste Beschwörung, is a sample of what will follow in the future. Roaming ancient dungeons with sword in one hand and torch in the other, HEXENBRETT conjures the madness and mysticism of olde-worlde black metal, when unorthodoxy was celebrated and no blueprints yet existed – only paths to be blazed! Indeed does HEXENBRETT blaze across this four-song/19-minute offering, remaining firmly rooted in the purest metals but fanning those flames with a creepy, coffin-dwelling atmosphere that puts Erste Beschwörung in a league all its own, also incorporating eldritch doom and deathrock into this wildly bubbling cauldron. And it’s early days still…

No boundaries, no limitations: HEXENBRETT digs its own unique grave with Erste Beschwörung, and the cemetery is wide-fucking-open. The spell was cast, the demons are here – let the haunting begin!

DVP 141 Sacrifizer – La Mort Triomphante LP – song premiere on Thursday 12th



DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present SACRIFIZER’s debut mini-album, La Mort Triomphante, on vinyl LP and digital formats. Enhanced with the band’s 2018 demo and one new track, the infernal majesty of La Mort Triomphante has now been expanded into full-length format.

Originally released earlier this year on limited-edition CD and cassette, La Mort Triomphante was SACRIFIZER’s glorious burst from the underground. At five furious tracks and atmosphere-setting intro, La Mort Triomphante sounds much like its cover looks: icy yet fiery, galloping forward like evil invaders with a violent restitution. Indeed, SACRIFIZER are 100% cult speed metal sewn from ancient Canadian cloth, but other fibers from ’80s France and Germany also comprise their patchwork of salacious speed and bestial devastation. Grounded in the more traditional end of speed metal, the quintet keep their songwriting focused and straightforward, maximizing hooks and never forgetting the eternal magick of a good guitar solo; even the production itself on La Mort Triomphante is era-authentic but never smacks of cheap retro-posturing. The same could be said for their debut demo, Night of the Razors, which is here amended to this special LP version. A bit more berzerker and dripping with diabolism, SACRIZER early on indeed exuded some Morsüre vibes. “Morbid Envenomation,” the brand-new track exclusive to this vinyl LP, ends off the record with the band in full-on epic and EVIL mode, pointing the way toward SACRIFIZER’s inevitable debut album, which is bound to be a modern classic…soon!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present THE NIGHT ETERNAL's striking debut EP, The Night Eternal, now also on Mini-CD format.

Although THE NIGHT ETERNAL's first public recording, already, these Germans are evincing the mastery of veterans. Across their three original compositions and a reverentially poignant cover of Judas Priest's "(Take These) Chains," the quintet concoct a supremely powerful and stirringly moody sort of heavy metal, both traditionally pure-steel in their dynamics yet also brimming with epicness and a sort of forlorn heroism. In fact, early '80s Judas Priest is an apt reference for The Night Eternal's night-prowling style, all gleaming chrome and classy, but bespeaking an ever-present darkness beneath that alluring exterior. Of course, hooks are massive as are the commanding vocals of frontman Ricardo, who's already on his way to being a first class heavy metal singer in his own right, but it's the chemistry among the five members of THE NIGHT ETERNAL that puts this beyond most other debut recordings: truly, their fire and fluidity are magick to behold! DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present ANGELBLADE’s self-titled demo on cassette tape format.

Not much is known about this young three-piece, but one can say this for sure: These guys are deeply rooted in traditional heavy metal. Drawing their influence from the early days of the NWOBHM and Scandinavian heavy metal, they are out to create the rocking, obscure atmosphere of the early days.

The demo cassette contains 3 original tunes which show different facets and stir up hunger for more material.

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present MEGATON SWORD's striking debut EP, Niralet, on CD and 12" vinyl formats.

Hailing from Switzerland and founded in 2018, MEGATON SWORD are ever aptly monikered: theirs is a nuclear-powered style of true-as-steel HEAVY METAL drunk on high fantasy and the enduring themes of conquest and valor, triumph and tragedy. The band's first public recording is titled Niralet, and it arrives as a fully formed document of a young band already capitalizing on their considerable strengths. The quartet - vocalist Uzzy Unchained, guitarist Chris the Axe, bassist Simon the Sorcerer, and drummer Dan Thundersteel - here create five mini-epics that feel far vaster than their succinct track times suggest. Perhaps it's the patient pacing they employ, allowing each bellow of bathos and push of pathos to ring out and as true as possible; perhaps it's the passion and machismo dripping from every element, every drop of blood, sweat, and tears tangible and intense; or perhaps it's Niralet simultaneously sounding timeless and fresh, safely evading both rote "retro" throwback and over-modernity in kind.

We can make references to '80s Manowar, Warlord, and Manilla Road as well as maybe early Running Wild or Nasty Savage, but even this early on, MEGATON SWORD are being no one but themselves. DVP 135 Midnight Prey – Uncertain Times LP/CD



DYING VICTIM PRODUCTIONS is proud to present MIDNIGHT PREY's highly anticipated debut album, Uncertain Times, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Honest rock music played on real instruments: this is MIDNIGHT PREY! In a feral-yet-atmospheric way, this German three-piece play an honest and powerful old-school kind of sound, anchored in the darkness.

When MIDNIGHT PREY was founded in 2013 by Hannes Ruhland (drums), Winston Ziller (guitars, vocals), and Daniel Friesen (bass), they had known each other for two more years since the age of 16-18, already having a bit of reharsal and live experience together and apart. From Venom to Frank Zappa, from Roxy Music to Bolt Thrower, from Rory Gallagher to Black Flag - almost nothing was taboo on their record players. Growing up together sharing their love for good handmade music of all kinds of varieties, they played their way through Germany's underground heavy metal stages and released a demo on tape called The Savage Sessions in 2013 via Witchhammer Productions. In 2014, a promo tape called Rehearsal Rites was exclusively sold at one show, containing rough recordings of the songs to come out on the following EP, Rite of Blood, which was released on CD, tape, and digital.

MIDNIGHT PREY moved from the southwest of Germany to Hamburg in 2015. After playing a lot of shows in Hamburg, there was the release of a 7" single called Blood Stained Streets, which underlines their romance for the dirty, booze-soaked streets of St. Pauli (Hamburg). Now, at long last, their debut album, ominously titled Uncertain Times, is nearing release, and the power-trio are more than ready to unleash their sheer energy onto the world!

Indeed, energy is in abundance across Uncertain Times, but tempered with a focus and clarity that suggest the work of veterans. Skillfully working with space and shade, the songwriting retains an urgency but is never in a rush to the finish line, either; MIDNIGHT PREY just play it cool and keep the heads banging and fists pumping. Likewise, with that ever-present energy, they wisely don't over-distort or saturate their sound, keeping a clean-yet-gritty aspect that reverently straddles their many stylistic inspirations. Whether it's '70s hard rock, '80s heavy metal, or classic punk and speed metal, MIDNIGHT PREY mix it all into one addicting concoction that simply demands total thralldom - and repeat plays!

GALAXY is a band from Melbourne, Australia. In choosing the name GALAXY, their mission is to channel the cosmic power of heavy metal, and share it with those who will take up the challenge - to join them on a musical odyssey as far as the imagination will allow.

GALAXY tip their hats to the speed metal and traditional heavy metal acts of the 1980s with their untamed and spirited MLP, Lost From the Start. A force of musical beauty, terrifying in its splendor, it brings to mind '80s Riot, Satan, Megadeth and the classic years of Judas Priest, with manic thrash elements evoking the glory days of heavy music.

Lost From the Start has a dynamic production that appropriately captures the ferocity and emotion the songs exude. Mastering duties for the MLP were handled by none other than Andy La Rocque at his very own Sonic Train Studios, ensuring the maximum potential of the recording was achieved. The stunning gatefold cover art was created by talented Melbourne artist Keelan Ashton-Bell, presenting a sci-fi-inspired alien desert world which prepares the listener for the epic voyage ahead.

Embracing a wealth of haunted sounds and textures, this sepulchral slab of metal conjures an atmosphere rich in the romantic repugnance of horror’s past masters which it uses the setting for a 37 minute nightmare of nocturnal menace, occult fascination and bloody vengeance.
Summoning the ghosts of Metal past - Tank, Slayer, Venom and Mercyful Fate all playing a part- Havoc... fixates on the nuclear fury of an apocalyptic future, from which it culls new ways to pervert the course of heavy metal in the present.

Not much is known about this young three-piece, however, one can say this for sure. These guys are deeply rooted in traditional heavy metal. They draw their influence from the early days of the NWOBHM and Scandinavian heavy metal. And they are out to create the rocking, obscure atmosphere of the early days.
The demo cassette contains 3 original tunes which show different facets and stir up hunger for more material.

DVP 127 The Night Eternal – The Night Eternal MCD



Due to many requests, DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present THE NIGHT ETERNAL's striking debut EP now also on CD format.

Although THE NIGHT ETERNAL's first public recording, already, these Germans are evincing the mastery of veterans. Across their three original compositions and a reverentially poignant cover of Judas Priest's "(Take These) Chains," the quintet concoct a supremely powerful and stirringly moody sort of heavy metal, both traditionally pure-steel in their dynamics yet also brimming with epicness and a sort of forlorn heroism. In fact, early '80s Judas Priest is an apt reference for The Night Eternal's night-prowling style, all gleaming chrome and classy, but bespeaking an ever-present darkness beneath that alluring exterior. Of course, hooks are massive as are the commanding vocals of frontman Ricardo, who's already on his way to being a first class heavy metal singer in his own right, but it's the chemistry among the five members of THE NIGHT ETERNAL that puts this beyond most other debut recordings: truly, their fire and fluidity are magick to behold! DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present IRON CURTAIN's highly anticipated fourth album, Danger Zone, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.

For the past decade, Spain's IRON CURTAIN have become a veritable institution in the international true-metal underground. Road to Hell, their debut album from 2012, set the stage for their successive scene dominance. Forged in the fires of the early '80s, IRON CURTAIN's sound set forth a smorgasboard of grit and gleam equally, largely nodding to the eternal Motörhead as well as Tank, but also Canadian gods like Exciter and Razor, to the Teutonic might of early Iron Angel and Grave Digger, to Scandinavian gods OZ and Heavy Load, to cult American icons Abattoir and Savage Grace. Indeed, none more true were IRON CURTAIN - and they were here to stay! Two more revered full-lengths followed - 2013's Jaguar Spirit and 2016's Guilty as Charged - but now IRON CURTAIN are about to lift the veil on their most rocking record yet.

Fans since the beginning, DYING VICTIMS is honored to unleash that hot rocker in the form of Danger Zone, arguably IRON CURTAIN's magnum opus. Scaling back the speed that characterized the band earlier on, here do IRON CURTAIN work the sweet-spot mid-tempo, maximizing space and shade within these overtly more melodic gems. The production on Danger Zone is especially exquisite, retaining an era-authentic grittiness without sacrificing any latent heaviness. Not that "heaviness" per se is the prime directive on LP#4 - although, ripping opener "Wildlife" would suggest otherwise - rather, the cooly cruising dynamic these eight anthems take is far more suited to fist-shaking and pint-raising instead of thrashing like a maniac. Thus, hooks are huge, and any perceived "cleaning up" of the production pays off across these 33 electric minutes, culminating in the mesmerizingly moody climactic closer "Lonewolf."

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HEXENBRETT’s debut ooutput, Erste Beschwörung, on Mini LP and digital formats. Originally self-released at the end of 2018, this first summoning of the macabre HEXENBRETT is surely one of 2019’s most nefarious recordings.

HEXENBRETT is an entity that provides cemetery sounds exclusively. The first invocation, fittingly entitled Erste Beschwörung, is a sample of what will follow in the future. Roaming ancient dungeons with sword in one hand and torch in the other, HEXENBRETT conjures the madness and mysticism of olde-worlde black metal, when unorthodoxy was celebrated and no blueprints yet existed – only paths to be blazed! Indeed does HEXENBRETT blaze across this four-song/19-minute offering, remaining firmly rooted in the purest metals but fanning those flames with a creepy, coffin-dwelling atmosphere that puts Erste Beschwörung in a league all its own, also incorporating eldritch doom and deathrock into this wildly bubbling cauldron. And it’s early days still…

No boundaries, no limitations: HEXENBRETT digs its own unique grave with Erste Beschwörung, and the cemetery is wide-fucking-open. The spell was cast, the demons are here – let the haunting begin!

DVP 141 Sacrifizer – La Mort Triomphante LP



DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present SACRIFIZER's debut mini-album, La Mort Triomphante, on vinyl LP format. Enhanced with the band's 2018 demo and one new track, the infernal majesty of La Mort Triomphante has now been expanded into full-length format.

Originally released earlier this year on limited-edition CD and cassette, La Mort Triomphante was SACRIFIZER's glorious burst from the underground. At five furious tracks and atmosphere-setting intro, La Mort Triomphante sounds much like its cover looks: icy yet fiery, galloping forward like evil invaders with a violent restitution. Indeed, SACRIFIZER are 100% cult speed metal sewn from ancient Canadian cloth, but other fibers from '80s France and Germany also comprise their patchwork of salacious speed and bestial devastation. Grounded in the more traditional end of speed metal, the quintet keep their songwriting focused and straightforward, maximizing hooks and never forgetting the eternal magick of a good guitar solo; even the production itself on La Mort Triomphante is era-authentic but never smacks of cheap retro-posturing. The same could be said for their debut demo, Night of the Razors, which is here amended to this special LP version. A bit more berzerker and dripping with diabolism, SACRIZER early on indeed exuded some Morsüre vibes. "Morbid Envenomation," the brand-new track exclusive to this vinyl LP, ends off the record with the band in full-on epic and EVIL mode, pointing the way toward SACRIFIZER's inevitable debut album, which is bound to be a modern classic...soon!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the first two demos of MIDAS on vinyl LP format under the title Demo Tapes.

Hailing from the mean streets of Detroit, MIDAS are a four-piece band of hard rock warriors. Theirs is an ancient, time-lost sound, recalling rock ‘n’ roll’s first transitions into proto-metal during the hazy, crazy ‘70s. But, MIDAS are not simply retro-retread plagiarists looking to (hazily, lazily) replicate the past; this era and style of music BURNS within them, and it bursts forth with effervescence and excitement across their two demos to date.

Both released during 2019, MIDAS’ Solid Gold Heavy Metal and Still Hungry each feature four effervescent, exciting songs, and both trounce most bands regular recordings. Brimming with a startling, stultifying confidence, Solid Gold Heavy Metal (which occupies Side A of this DYING VICTIMS vinyl edition) patiently builds eldritch grooves guided by narrative lead work. There’s a subtle yet no-less-dazzling mysticism here recalling earliest Scorpions, Judas Priest, and even trio-era Thin Lizzy – just witness the demo’s eerily breathtaking closer, “Blackened Blade” – as well as subsequent legends Manilla Road and Cirith Ungol. The heavier stylings of the latter begin to come to the fore on Still Hungry, here occupying Side B. Now fully into late ‘70s heavy metal mode, MIDAS move beyond the moodiness of their first demo to more epic and fantastical landscapes, kicking up the octane and cruising into the night with the ever-aptly titled “Street Knights.” Together, both demos could verily hold together as an exceptionally tight ‘n’ thematic album-length work.

A two-song rehearsal introduced their boisterous, belligerent ways before the four-song Tales of Torment EP followed. Here, the full rapacious nature of CRYPT DAGGER revealed itself with rudeness and crudeness: filth-banging, black-as-pitch SPEED METAL with a heavy debt to punk, as well as such surprising influences as Devo, The Mummies, and early B-52s. DVP 143 Karloff – Raw Nights MLP



DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present KARLOFF’s debut mini-album, Raw Nights, on 12” vinyl and digital formats.

Forming in 2018, KARLOFF hail from Germany, helmed by erstwhile Graveyard Ghoul member Tom Horrified alongside a couple close comrades. But compared to that band’s old-school death metal stylings, KARLOFF go in a more punk-oriented direction – more street than cavern, as it were – with a sound self-described as “raw obscure punk turns into blackness.”

KARLOFF did exactly that with their debut Demo ’18, three thirsty ‘n’ miserable tracks of street-walking napalm. But things got more twisted ‘n’ pissed with the following Raw Nights a year later. Like a more gutter-level Midnight, here did KARLOFF kick out the (creepy) jams, strutting with sleazy confidence and an infectious sense of bash/crash/slash that struck deep into the heart of what makes the best of both punk and metal. Of course, that blackened singe is never far away, and gives KARLOFF’s canon that ever-special twist of ancient evil.

Fans from the very beginning, now does DYING VICTIMS combine both recordings onto one longer-playing format, under the title Raw Nights. Raw is this night in-fucking-deed, and you get eight quick-hitting tracks in a tantalizing 20 minutes, graced with new cover art courtesy of Tom Horrified and Jan Utecht of Occvlta. DVP 147 Warlust – Unearthing Shattered Philosophies LP/CD



DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated second album of Germany’s WARLUST, Unearthing Shattered Philosophies, on CD, vinyl LP and digital formats.

One of the metal underground’s best-kept secrets, WARLUST began their assault on the false in 2012. The title of their debut demo, 2014’s Unholy Attack, said everything it needed to: here was blackthrashing METAL, steeped in the spirits of old and with genuinely evil blood coursing through its veins. However, it was 2017’s Morbid Execution debut album where WARLUST first truly took flight – on burning wings of flame! More intense, more epic, more heavy fucking metal, Morbid Execution carried on the noble work started by founding fathers Desaster in their homeland and Deströyer 666, Zemial, and Aura Noir abroad.

But, while that debut LP was still tethered to more traditional-style blackthrash, with Unearthing Shattered Philosophies do WARLUST’s songwriting chops blossom with startling strength and crushing clarity. It’s all immediately WARLUST, for sure, but within the album’s eight-song/45-minute runtime lurks a travelogue of terror and triumph, of melancholy and malevolence. Calling it more “epic” would be accurate, but that only tells half the story, if at all; allowing oneself to be swept away by both teeth-gnashing thrash sprints and strident, swords-aloft marches is more representative of the experience, of total possession, in thrall to the eternal and unyielding spirit of Hell’s heavy metal. Likewise, WARLUST’s command of dynamics here is impressive, to say the very least: part and parcel of those more epic stylings, the narrative flow within each track and then from one track to the next takes the band into the upper echelon of nowadays evil metal. And the band’s melodicism is, as ever, simultaneously cryogenic and burning hot to the touch in the grand tradition of classic Dissection and Necrophobic.

DVP 148 Sandstorm – Time to Strike LP/CD



DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the striking debut album of Canada’s SANDSTORM, Time to Strike, on 12” vinyl and CD formats.

Hailing from Vancouver, SANDSTORM are a power-trio in the grand tradition: PJ “The Butcher” La Griffe on drums, Reptile Anderson on lead vocals & bass guitar, and Stevie “Broke” Whiteless on lead vocals & guitar. The band formed during the winter 2017 and were initially inspired by ‘80s Swedish underground metal, the original NWOBHM movement, and “Rob Halford’s Instagram account.” While knowing (and fully embracing) all of heavy metal’s over-the-top aesthetics at the dawn of the 1980s, it became immediately apparent that SANDSTORM were indeed the Real fucking Deal when faced with their debut album, Time to Strike.

In early 2019, SANDSTORM digitally released Time to Strike and did a self-released run of 100 CDs and tapes, all of which sold out quickly, and for good reason: here was glorious (and gloriously scrappy) pre-speed/thrash HEAVY METAL in the literally ancient, sword-wielding style so favored in the early ‘80s, rendered in such authentic (and authentically over-the-top) style, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this was some unearthed relic from the era. Nothing’s overdriven here, and everything moves at a patient yet hot-rocking pace; all strings suitably retain a strong sense of rock ‘n’ roll, pared back in distortion to allow the medieval melodicism to work its magick. And, like all the best early true metal, the vocals are clear and authoritative and just high-pitched enough to evoke that misty ‘n’ mystical sensation. And although Time to Strike comprises but six songs, each one’s a mini-epic in its own right, making the album a compact but somehow expansive 35 minutes.

Many references could be made to Time to Strike, but no specific one in particular – that’s just how infectious and charismatic SANDSTORM are. And this is only the beginning, with more new material due later this year on DYING VICTIMS. Additionally, SANDSTORM will play Sweden’s esteemed Muskelrock fest this year, which perfectly suits the band’s obscure ‘n’ old-school take on heavy metal. Fuck yeah, it’s Time to Strike!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present ZATYR’s striking debut EP, Ornament of Proposition, on 12” vinyl and digital formats.
Hailing from Sweden and forming in 2019, ZATYR quickly set to work on their debut EP – plus, speaking of "set," their vocalist Set used to be in the beloved Devil Lee Rot. Titled Ornament of Proposition, the band’s first public recording was released digitally in September of that year, and proudly displayed an otherwise-new band brimming with the fire of the ancients and confidence to spare. Indeed, ZATYR here sounded authentically old, casting their gaze across the darkest and classiest currents of classic heavy metal singed with a touch of first-wave black metal. But, paradoxically, the quartet just as ably burned with the enthusiasm of feral youngbloods, imbuing the EP’s three tracks with boundless passion.
Seeing fit to foster the rich lifeblood of the heavy metal underground, DYING VICTIMS grants ZATYR’s debut EP on a new lease on life, rendering it onto black gold and including an exclusive bonus track, now encompassing a total of 18 stout minutes. DVP 150 Hexenbrett - Zweite Beschwörung: Ein Kind zu töten LP/CD/MC



DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HEXENBRETT’s highly anticipated debut album, Zweite Beschwörung: Ein Kind zu töten, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.

It was at the dawn of 2019 when a strange little demo inconspicuously announced itself from the other side and introduced the sound of the bloody iris. Titled Erste Beschwörung, it was the first public recording of one HEXENBRETT, the work of a mysterious duo revealing themselves as Josto Feratu and Scarlettina Bolétte. This was a literal bolt from the blue, sounds that were as refreshingly new as they were authentically old. “Cemetery sounds” is what the band called them, but that only told half the story. Wild and wily, HEXENBRETT unloaded a dizzying payload of sounds both traditional and unorthodox, dumping into its hot-rockin’ cauldron spices from first-wave black metal, Iron Curtain-era speed metal, outsider doom, and even old-school deathrock. It was a kaleidoscopic spin, and caught the attention of Caligari Records (who did a wider cassette release) and then DYING VICTIMS with their 12” vinyl version toward the end of the year. Lots of other, strange-starved ears picked up on it, too.

The stage thus set, HEXENBRETT proceeds to defy expectations and obliterate the slate with its debut album, Zweite Beschwörung: Ein Kind zu töten. A record of stark contrasts, Zweite Beschwörung immediately sounds definitively like HEXENBRETT: roaming ancient cemeteries with a torch in hand, conjuring the madness and mysticism of early black metal, when unorthodoxy was celebrated and no blueprints yet existed – only paths to be blazed! But, that latter element is precisely where Zweite Beschwörung takes a different turn, delving into waters both more refined and more rarefied, more straightforward and more obtuse – more METAL, epic and outlandish and “true,” but decidedly in an un-metal manner – beguiling the senses either way, and addictively so. It’s a turn that’s directly inspired by such sources as varied as Varathron, Jean Rollin, Danzig, Goblin, and Van Halen, and yet emerging completely unique and unlike little else around. A diverse journey through mouldy crypts and deranged minds, Zweite Beschwörung: Ein Kind zu töten features eight original tracks and an astonishing cover of Townes Van Zandt's "The Spider Song".

Quite commandingly, HEXENBRETT reveal an uncanny knack for songcraft, building defined and endearing hooks that unfold unexpectedly yet thrillingly, the intensity constantly rising and falling with preternatural ease but always in service of the song. Elsewhere, the band coats its creations with subtle layers of synth, further fanning that otherworldly atmosphere that laid in wait across the demo while ragged aggression usually took over. Which is all to say nothing of the absolutely spellbinding chimes often employed, evoking a banquet of horror with an almost-filmic quality in line with the band’s love for European cult cinema. And, fittingly, the production across Zweite Beschwörung is richly analog, scrappy but shimmering, evincing a totality of design and just-professional-enough presentation without sacrificing the entity’s original ethics. Like most first albums should be, the tale of HEXENBRETT truly begins here.

If there was ever any question about HEXENBRETT’s singular nature, just beginning to bloom, simply gaze upon the cover art to Zweite Beschwörung: Ein Kind zu töten. All other paths blazed, this is the only one left, and it’s HEXENBRETT’s alone… The dead will dance, expect the unexpected!

Hailing from Sweden, TØRONTO formed in 2017, partly out of the ashes of the sorely missed Morbus Chron – vocalist/guitarist Edvin Aftonfalk and bassist Dag Landin, here under the stage names Eddie Flawless and 79-83, respectively – and also powerhouse drummer Leo Ekström Sollenmo, from the well-respected Lethal Steel and Temisto, under the name Lt. Oxtreme as well as one Seb Cyborg on guitars. With this lineup in place, the quartet released their debut demo in 2018 and then the Nocturnal High tape on DYING VICTIMS later that year. That latter title alone suggested that something strange ‘n’ salacious was indeed afoot…
And it is! Wanna get nocturnal higher? Then become Under Siege! Encompassing the strides they made across their two demos, TØRONTO’s first longer-playing record is a rush of weird ‘n’ wild speed metal heavily informed by hardcore punk. Put simply, one could imagine the sound of Under Siege as greased-up NWOBHM colliding headlong into early Razor and Warfare, but overseen by Inepsy, mid ‘80s Discharge, and even Howard Benson-era Motörhead. Shit shreds, fast and free, each raucous-yet-rockin’ section charging into the night but equally exuding an unselfconsciously subtle minimalism that somehow gets these eight bangers over and done with in an average of barely two minutes each. Put another way, one could also imagine the zombified spirit of Morbus Chron holding court here, in the sense that that band both embodied and defied death metal; TØRONTO similarly does such with speed metal, but again renders it into an alternately ideal/oblique form that’s entirely theirs – and this is just the start.
While maybe not as off-the-wall weird as GISM’s NWOBHM/noise mélange M.A.N., TØRONTO are treading comparably rarified ground with Under Siege, and their trajectory into the strange is assured. Get with their program or get out of the way!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the first two demos of MIDAS on vinyl LP format under the title Demo Tapes.

Hailing from the mean streets of Detroit, MIDAS are a four-piece band of hard rock warriors. Theirs is an ancient, time-lost sound, recalling rock ‘n’ roll’s first transitions into proto-metal during the hazy, crazy ‘70s. But, MIDAS are not simply retro-retread plagiarists looking to (hazily, lazily) replicate the past; this era and style of music BURNS within them, and it bursts forth with effervescence and excitement across their two demos to date.

Both released during 2019, MIDAS’ Solid Gold Heavy Metal and Still Hungry each feature four effervescent, exciting songs, and both trounce most bands regular recordings. Brimming with a startling, stultifying confidence, Solid Gold Heavy Metal (which occupies Side A of this DYING VICTIMS vinyl edition) patiently builds eldritch grooves guided by narrative lead work. There’s a subtle yet no-less-dazzling mysticism here recalling earliest Scorpions, Judas Priest, and even trio-era Thin Lizzy – just witness the demo’s eerily breathtaking closer, “Blackened Blade” – as well as subsequent legends Manilla Road and Cirith Ungol. The heavier stylings of the latter begin to come to the fore on Still Hungry, here occupying Side B. Now fully into late ‘70s heavy metal mode, MIDAS move beyond the moodiness of their first demo to more epic and fantastical landscapes, kicking up the octane and cruising into the night with the ever-aptly titled “Street Knights.” Together, both demos could verily hold together as an exceptionally tight ‘n’ thematic album-length work.

Roaming ancient dungeons with sword in one hand and torch in the other, HEXENBRETT conjures the madness and mysticism of olde-worlde black metal, when unorthodoxy was celebrated and no blueprints yet existed - only paths to be blazed! DVP 127 The Night Eternal – The Night Eternal MLP Repress



Although THE NIGHT ETERNAL's first public recording, already, these Germans are evincing the mastery of veterans. Across their three original compositions and a reverentially poignant cover of Judas Priest's "(Take These) Chains," the quintet concoct a supremely powerful and stirringly moody sort of heavy metal, both traditionally pure-steel in their dynamics yet also brimming with epicness and a sort of forlorn heroism. In fact, early '80s Judas Priest is an apt reference for The Night Eternal's night-prowling style, all gleaming chrome and classy, but bespeaking an ever-present darkness beneath that alluring exterior. Of course, hooks are massive as are the commanding vocals of frontman Ricardo, who's already on his way to being a first class heavy metal singer in his own right, but it's the chemistry among the five members of THE NIGHT ETERNAL that puts this beyond most other debut recordings: truly, their fire and fluidity are magick to behold! DVP 143 Karloff – Raw Nights MLP


DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present KARLOFF’s debut mini-album, Raw Nights, on 12” vinyl and digital formats.

Forming in 2018, KARLOFF hail from Germany, helmed by erstwhile Graveyard Ghoul member Tom Horrified alongside a couple close comrades. But compared to that band’s old-school death metal stylings, KARLOFF go in a more punk-oriented direction – more street than cavern, as it were – with a sound self-described as “raw obscure punk turns into blackness.”

KARLOFF did exactly that with their debut Demo ’18, three thirsty ‘n’ miserable tracks of street-walking napalm. But things got more twisted ‘n’ pissed with the following Raw Nights a year later. Like a more gutter-level Midnight, here did KARLOFF kick out the (creepy) jams, strutting with sleazy confidence and an infectious sense of bash/crash/slash that struck deep into the heart of what makes the best of both punk and metal. Of course, that blackened singe is never far away, and gives KARLOFF’s canon that ever-special twist of ancient evil.

Fans from the very beginning, now does DYING VICTIMS combine both recordings onto one longer-playing format, under the title Raw Nights. DVP 147 Warlust – Unearthing Shattered Philosophies LP/CD




DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated second album of Germany’s WARLUST, Unearthing Shattered Philosophies, on CD, vinyl LP and digital formats.

One of the metal underground’s best-kept secrets, WARLUST began their assault on the false in 2012. The title of their debut demo, 2014’s Unholy Attack, said everything it needed to: here was blackthrashing METAL, steeped in the spirits of old and with genuinely evil blood coursing through its veins. However, it was 2017’s Morbid Execution debut album where WARLUST first truly took flight – on burning wings of flame! More intense, more epic, more heavy fucking metal, Morbid Execution carried on the noble work started by founding fathers Desaster in their homeland and Deströyer 666, Zemial, and Aura Noir abroad.

But, while that debut LP was still tethered to more traditional-style blackthrash, with Unearthing Shattered Philosophies do WARLUST’s songwriting chops blossom with startling strength and crushing clarity. It’s all immediately WARLUST, for sure, but within the album’s eight-song/45-minute runtime lurks a travelogue of terror and triumph, of melancholy and malevolence. Calling it more “epic” would be accurate, but that only tells half the story, if at all; allowing oneself to be swept away by both teeth-gnashing thrash sprints and strident, swords-aloft marches is more representative of the experience, of total possession, in thrall to the eternal and unyielding spirit of Hell’s heavy metal. Likewise, WARLUST’s command of dynamics here is impressive, to say the very least: part and parcel of those more epic stylings, the narrative flow within each track and then from one track to the next takes the band into the upper echelon of nowadays evil metal. And the band’s melodicism is, as ever, simultaneously cryogenic and burning hot to the touch in the grand tradition of classic Dissection and Necrophobic.

DVP 148 Sandstorm – Time to Strike LP/CD




DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the striking debut album of Canada’s SANDSTORM, Time to Strike, on 12” vinyl and CD formats.

Hailing from Vancouver, SANDSTORM are a power-trio in the grand tradition: PJ “The Butcher” La Griffe on drums, Reptile Anderson on lead vocals & bass guitar, and Stevie “Broke” Whiteless on lead vocals & guitar. The band formed during the winter 2017 and were initially inspired by ‘80s Swedish underground metal, the original NWOBHM movement, and “Rob Halford’s Instagram account.” While knowing (and fully embracing) all of heavy metal’s over-the-top aesthetics at the dawn of the 1980s, it became immediately apparent that SANDSTORM were indeed the Real fucking Deal when faced with their debut album, Time to Strike.

In early 2019, SANDSTORM digitally released Time to Strike and did a self-released run of 100 CDs and tapes, all of which sold out quickly, and for good reason: here was glorious (and gloriously scrappy) pre-speed/thrash HEAVY METAL in the literally ancient, sword-wielding style so favored in the early ‘80s, rendered in such authentic (and authentically over-the-top) style, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this was some unearthed relic from the era. Nothing’s overdriven here, and everything moves at a patient yet hot-rocking pace; all strings suitably retain a strong sense of rock ‘n’ roll, pared back in distortion to allow the medieval melodicism to work its magick. And, like all the best early true metal, the vocals are clear and authoritative and just high-pitched enough to evoke that misty ‘n’ mystical sensation. And although Time to Strike comprises but six songs, each one’s a mini-epic in its own right, making the album a compact but somehow expansive 35 minutes.

Many references could be made to Time to Strike, but no specific one in particular – that’s just how infectious and charismatic SANDSTORM are. And this is only the beginning, with more new material due later this year on DYING VICTIMS. Additionally, SANDSTORM will play Sweden’s esteemed Muskelrock fest this year, which perfectly suits the band’s obscure ‘n’ old-school take on heavy metal. Fuck yeah, it’s Time to Strike!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present COLTRE’s striking debut, Under the Influence, on CD and 12” vinyl formats.

COLTRE was forged in London, England by guitarists Daniel Sweed and Marco Stamigna in May 2019. They met at a Midnight concert and decided to form a band inspired by the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. They started rehearsing, and by the beginning of 2020 had recorded the four-song EP Under the Influence, to be released in time for their first gig, supporting Witchtower at Boston Music Rooms.

The band self-released Under the Influence on CD and digital formats, but now DYING VICTIMS steps forward to champion COLTRE’s cause and release it as a five-song work, featuring an exclusive new track. Rough and rustic but brimming with an authentically ancient fire, Under the Influence is moody metallic majesty: dark ‘n’ mysterious riffs, portentously galloping rhythms, epic-yet-direct compositions, and the sage-like pipes of Stagmina atop it all. One could be mistaken for thinking COLTRE were some unearthed relic from the original NWOBHM movement, so hot-rockin’ is their swords-aloft surge, evoking high fantasy and urban grit in equal measure, and crucially retaining that pivotal rock ‘n’ roll thrust Thin Lizzy largely gifted to that movement.

A veritable institution by now, DEATHSTORM have been flying the flag of hate for a decade now, releasing albums on such well-regarded labels as I Hate and High Roller. DEATHSTORM delivered a swift ‘n’ sweet EP for DYING VICTIMS titled The Gallows in 2015, and now the power-trio return to the label for their most intense and varied recording yet, For Dread Shall Reign.

Without doubt, the spectre of classic Kreator looms large over DEATHSTORM still – and why should it not, when you’re doing deathtrash this devastating? – but with For Dread Shall Reign, the band bring forth a whole host of equally classic contours. From very old Metallica to equally old Slayer on to ‘80s Death and especially Demolition Hammer, DEATHSTORM here hammer out riffs, riffs, RIFFS! But, unlike so much thrash that haphazardly seeks to simply catalog riffs in disservice of the song, these Austrian veterans thread their enviable arsenal into hard-charging, headbanging juggernauts of immediately memorable metal-mania manna. There’s nothing fancy here, no concessions toward “maturity” or “crossover” or other euphemisms for watering-down their already-heady brew; for DEATHSTORM, heavy metal is the law, and For Dread Shall Reign honors this noble ideal pairing strong songwriting with a tight ‘n’ brutal production favorably reminiscent of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. Because DEATHSTORM aren’t broken – so don’ fix ‘em!

Social criticism, serial killers, cults, anti-religion, war…all this is grist for DEATHSTORM’s lyrical mill. What they spit out is supreme DEATH-fucking-THRASH of the highest order, because in these troubled times, For Dread Shall Reign!

Combining debut demos/EPs by both bands, this split album brings together two exciting new talents in traditional metal on the format so fitting for such: VINYL! On one side is VENATOR’s Paradiser EP. Featuring killer, era-authentic artwork reminiscent of Mausoleum Records’ mid-‘80s heyday, VENATOR’s entry here is three moody ‘n’ melodic tracks which have a subtly anthemic quality; just as equally, one can feel the chill of night blow across Paradiser. Hailing from Sweden and forming in 2019, ZATYR quickly set to work on their debut EP – plus, speaking of “set,” their vocalist Set used to be in the beloved Devil Lee Rot. Titled Ornament of Proposition, the band’s first public recording was released digitally in September of that year, and proudly displayed an otherwise-new band brimming with the fire of the ancients and confidence to spare. Indeed, ZATYR here sounded authentically old, casting their gaze across the darkest and classiest currents of classic heavy metal singed with a touch of first-wave black metal. But, paradoxically, the quartet just as ably burned with the enthusiasm of feral youngbloods, imbuing the EP’s three tracks with boundless passion.

Seeing fit to foster the rich lifeblood of the heavy metal underground, DYING VICTIMS grants ZATYR’s debut EP on a new lease on life, rendering it onto black gold and including an exclusive bonus track, now encompassing a total of 18 stout minutes. Truly, this re-release shall rightfully expose ZATYR to the wider metal landscape, boldly emblazoning “The Devil’s Rock ‘n’ Roll” across the hearts and minds of those who hail ancient heavy metal and black metal alike. DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HEXENBRETT’s highly anticipated debut album, Zweite Beschwörung: Ein Kind zu töten, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.

It was at the dawn of 2019 when a strange little demo inconspicuously announced itself from the other side and introduced the sound of the bloody iris. Titled Erste Beschwörung, it was the first public recording of one HEXENBRETT, the work of a mysterious duo revealing themselves as Josto Feratu and Scarlettina Bolétte. This was a literal bolt from the blue, sounds that were as refreshingly new as they were authentically old. “Cemetery sounds” is what the band called them, but that only told half the story. Wild and wily, HEXENBRETT unloaded a dizzying payload of sounds both traditional and unorthodox, dumping into its hot-rockin’ cauldron spices from first-wave black metal, Iron Curtain-era speed metal, outsider doom, and even old-school deathrock. It was a kaleidoscopic spin, and caught the attention of Caligari Records (who did a wider cassette release) and then DYING VICTIMS with their 12” vinyl version toward the end of the year. Lots of other, strange-starved ears picked up on it, too.

The stage thus set, HEXENBRETT proceeds to defy expectations and obliterate the slate with its debut album, Zweite Beschwörung: Ein Kind zu töten. A record of stark contrasts, Zweite Beschwörung immediately sounds definitively like HEXENBRETT: roaming ancient cemeteries with a torch in hand, conjuring the madness and mysticism of early black metal, when unorthodoxy was celebrated and no blueprints yet existed – only paths to be blazed! But, that latter element is precisely where Zweite Beschwörung takes a different turn, delving into waters both more refined and more rarefied, more straightforward and more obtuse – more METAL, epic and outlandish and “true,” but decidedly in an un-metal manner – beguiling the senses either way, and addictively so. It’s a turn that’s directly inspired by such sources as varied as Varathron, Jean Rollin, Danzig, Goblin, and Van Halen, and yet emerging completely unique and unlike little else around. A diverse journey through mouldy crypts and deranged minds, Zweite Beschwörung: Ein Kind zu töten features eight original tracks and an astonishing cover of Townes Van Zandt’s “The Spider Song”.

Quite commandingly, HEXENBRETT reveal an uncanny knack for songcraft, building defined and endearing hooks that unfold unexpectedly yet thrillingly, the intensity constantly rising and falling with preternatural ease but always in service of the song. Elsewhere, the band coats its creations with subtle layers of synth, further fanning that otherworldly atmosphere that laid in wait across the demo while ragged aggression usually took over. Which is all to say nothing of the absolutely spellbinding chimes often employed, evoking a banquet of horror with an almost-filmic quality in line with the band’s love for European cult cinema. And, fittingly, the production across Zweite Beschwörung is richly analog, scrappy but shimmering, evincing a totality of design and just-professional-enough presentation without sacrificing the entity’s original ethics. Like most first albums should be, the tale of HEXENBRETT truly begins here.

DVP 151 Tøronto – Under Siege MLP



DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present TØRONTO’s striking debut mini-album, Under Siege, on 12” vinyl and digital formats.

Hailing from Sweden, TØRONTO formed in 2017, partly out of the ashes of the sorely missed Morbus Chron – vocalist/guitarist Edvin Aftonfalk and bassist Dag Landin, here under the stage names Eddie Flawless and 79-83, respectively – and also powerhouse drummer Leo Ekström Sollenmo, from the well-respected Lethal Steel and Temisto, under the name Lt. Oxtreme as well as one Seb Cyborg on guitars. With this lineup in place, the quartet released their debut demo in 2018 and then the Nocturnal High tape on DYING VICTIMS later that year. That latter title alone suggested that something strange ‘n’ salacious was indeed afoot…

And it is! Wanna get nocturnal higher? Then become Under Siege! Encompassing the strides they made across their two demos, TØRONTO’s first longer-playing record is a rush of weird ‘n’ wild speed metal heavily informed by hardcore punk. Put simply, one could imagine the sound of Under Siege as greased-up NWOBHM colliding headlong into early Razor and Warfare, but overseen by Inepsy, mid ‘80s Discharge, and even Howard Benson-era Motörhead. Shit shreds, fast and free, each raucous-yet-rockin’ section charging into the night but equally exuding an unselfconsciously subtle minimalism that somehow gets these eight bangers over and done with in an average of barely two minutes each. Put another way, one could also imagine the zombified spirit of Morbus Chron holding court here, in the sense that that band both embodied and defied death metal; TØRONTO similarly does such with speed metal, but again renders it into an alternately ideal/oblique form that’s entirely theirs – and this is just the start.

While maybe not as off-the-wall weird as GISM’s NWOBHM/noise mélange M.A.N., TØRONTO are treading comparably rarified ground with Under Siege, and their trajectory into the strange is assured. Get with their program or get out of the way!

DVP 127 The Night Eternal – The Night Eternal MLP Repress



Although THE NIGHT ETERNAL’s first public recording, already, these Germans are evincing the mastery of veterans. Across their three original compositions and a reverentially poignant cover of Judas Priest’s “(Take These) Chains,” the quintet concoct a supremely powerful and stirringly moody sort of heavy metal, both traditionally pure-steel in their dynamics yet also brimming with epicness and a sort of forlorn heroism. In fact, early ’80s Judas Priest is an apt reference for The Night Eternal‘s night-prowling style, all gleaming chrome and classy, but bespeaking an ever-present darkness beneath that alluring exterior. Of course, hooks are massive as are the commanding vocals of frontman Ricardo, who’s already on his way to being a first class heavy metal singer in his own right, but it’s the chemistry among the five members of THE NIGHT ETERNAL that puts this beyond most other debut recordings: truly, their fire and fluidity are magick to behold! HEXENBRETT is an entity that provides cemetery sounds exclusively. The first invocation, fittingly entitled Erste Beschwörung, is a sample of what will follow in the future. Roaming ancient dungeons with sword in one hand and torch in the other, HEXENBRETT conjures the madness and mysticism of olde-worlde black metal, when unorthodoxy was celebrated and no blueprints yet existed – only paths to be blazed! Indeed does HEXENBRETT blaze across this four-song/19-minute offering, remaining firmly rooted in the purest metals but fanning those flames with a creepy, coffin-dwelling atmosphere that puts Erste Beschwörung in a league all its own, also incorporating eldritch doom and deathrock into this wildly bubbling cauldron. And it’s early days still…

A brand-new entity hailing from Belgium, the sword-swinging brigands of SOULCASTER shall make their mark across the metal underground with their five-song Maelstrom of Death and Steel. In a swift-but-satisfying 22 minutes, SOULCASTER erect towers of fantastical heavy metal might, evincing a stout grasp of epic-yet-punchy songwriting and a whole host of unique contrasts which render this recording advanced beyond the band’s young years. Raw yet refined, atmospheric yet aggressive, moody yet majestic, SOULCASTER bring to life both bloodshed and arcane intrigue, swords and sorcery. Not for nothing is the record titled Maelstrom of Death and Steel: the name embodies the ongoing turmoil in Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson, the book series that lends the band its moniker and forms the setting for the entire EP

Initially, the concept behind SOULCASTER was to recast forebears of the epic metal tradition – Cirith Ungol, Manilla Road, Slough Feg, and early Blind Guardian – and their literary antecedents (Tolkien, Moorcock, Robert E. Howard) and do a modern interpretation of it: thus, newer fantasy as the inspiration, and also more contemporary classicist heavy metal like Eternal Champion, Sumerlands, and Visigoth. But, what results across Maelstrom of Death and Steel is entirely SOULCASTER’s, as the band’s blend of musical influences both metal and otherwise makes the record a rich ‘n’ sumptuous feast of fantasy and fanaticism. Of especial note is the rhythmic thrust they employ, galloping like steeds of the apocalypse or at least in a manner more post-punk than other epic metal battalions – truly, sounds of the battlefield here – which are all the more heightened by the big and booming and somehow distant production style, lending even more mystery to SOULCASTER’s ruminations on steel & spell.

Although a brand-new entity, NEANDERTHAL NÖISE MACHINE (acronym NNM) is a power-trio comprised of metal veterans: Alimai (In League With Satan, Bestial Evil), Ace (Witchunter, Bestial Evil), and Bastard (Blasphemophagher, Ripping Death, Bestial Evil, ex-Baphomet’s Blood). Knowing what they want and wanting it now, NNM mix together furious, dirty, and raw old-school metal influenced by Bronze-era Motörhead, the Fast Eddie Clarke solo project, Venom (1980-‘84), Saxon (1978-‘85), AC/DC (1975-‘79), Sweden’s Gehennah, the Mentors (1981-‘89), Discharge (1981-‘84), Fingernails (1984-‘88), Bathory (1983-‘84), Rose Tattoo (1978-‘82), Eatmyfuk, and Tank (1981-‘84).

Specific these influences may be, but they’re crucial in underlining exactly where Neanderthal Nöise Machine is coming from – and where it’s going, like a locomotive to Hell. Indeed, NNM’s first strike is deadly, salaciously swift at six songs in 18 minutes, crashing the heavy metal vomit party – uninvited, of course! – and proceeding to rudely treat those partygoers, who had no justification being there in the first place. Truly, this is primordial metal for the purist, for those who uphold the law…of the unlawful, and the awful!

Just f-f-feel Ace’s monumental guitar work together with the characteristically bulldozing bass of Bastard, then further submit to the hammering drums and distinctly early ‘80s vocal style of Alimai: there’s simply no faking this; it’s got to be FUCKING REAL. The relentless riffs and rough ‘n’ tumble arrangements, combined with a direct live-recording production in the pure old-school style, altogether make NNM’s sound highly distinctive in this landscape of the plastic and disposable.

Hailing from Switzerland and founded in 2018, MEGATON SWORD are ever aptly monikered: theirs is a nuclear-powered style of true-as-steel HEAVY METAL drunk on high fantasy and the enduring themes of conquest and valor, triumph and tragedy. The band's first public recording is titled Niralet, and it arrives as a fully formed document of a young band already capitalizing on their considerable strengths. The quartet - vocalist Uzzy Unchained, guitarist Chris the Axe, bassist Simon the Sorcerer, and drummer Dan Thundersteel - here create five mini-epics that feel far vaster than their succinct track times suggest. Perhaps it's the patient pacing they employ, allowing each bellow of bathos and push of pathos to ring out and as true as possible; perhaps it's the passion and machismo dripping from every element, every drop of blood, sweat, and tears tangible and intense; or perhaps it's Niralet simultaneously sounding timeless and fresh, safely evading both rote "retro" throwback and over-modernity in kind.

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HEXECUTOR’s highly anticipated second album, Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

It’s been four long years since HEXECUTOR released their shockingly masterful debut album, Poison, Lust and Damnation. The “shock” wasn’t so much that the French quartet came out of nowhere – indeed, they’d made waves in the underground with their debut demo in 2012 and especially the Hangmen of Roazhon EP two years later (which DYING VICTIMS reissued on 12” vinyl in 2018, to meet demand) – but rather that there existed a band putting an undeniably authentic yet also unique twist on classic mid-‘80s speed metal and thrash. HEXECUTOR weren’t trying to reinvent language; they were simply trying to expand the lexicon a bit, and they did so with astonishing aplomb on Poison, Lust and Damnation.

But, now rested (and wild!), HEXECUTOR return with an even bolder record in their long-awaited second album, Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge. If its no-less-considerable predecessor pushed traditional tropes, Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge topples them altogether! It’s all recognizably HEXECUTOR – and immediately, charismatically so – but swirling in their cantankerous cauldron of old Slayer, Razor, Destruction, Sepultura, and Merciless is a passion for classic hard rock and heavy metal and coated in the feeling of Bathory's Blood Fire Death and Manowar's Into Glory Ride. Thus, this second strike is a much more EPIC one, all without striving to be “epic” in the pejorative sense. It’s all twisted with grace and gnarliness, in equal measure, as one will find filtered traces of Thin Lizzy, Uriah Heep, Blue Öyster Cult, UFO, and even the Eagles as prominently as those of Deströyer 666, Absu, Gospel of the Horns, and Vomitor. HEXECUTOR even touch upon just-as-classic black metal and death metal mainstays as Morbid Angel, Sweden’s Dawn, and early Necrophobic, Darkthrone, Gorgoroth, and Satyricon…but again, simply hearing Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge is witnessing the band’s widescreen yet still-wild ways. Slowing down doesn’t mean wimping out, and diversity can be a wondrous thing when handled with care and class. In a word, magickal!

Then again, a recording as momentous Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge is underpinned by a deep and thoughtful thematic, relating directly to HEXECUTOR’s homeland. As heavy metal is a great medium to relate legends and epic stories, HEXECUTOR chose to glorify the beauty of their folklore with a concept album based exclusively on myths, factual history, and fantastic tales kept alive by the oral tradition and collected by authors, folklorists, and poets such as Anatole Le Braz, Paul Sébillot, or François Cadic.

It bears repeating that Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge is a momentous event, and it’s suitably graced with amazing artwork courtesy of Skelethal’s Jon Whiplash. HEXECUTOR here have delivered a modern classic!

Hailing from Bavaria, BLACKEVIL have been forging fire since 2013. Their first demo, appropriately titled Hail the Cult, emerged from the darkness in 2015, auspiciously revealing a razor-sharp and endlessly salacious style of blackthrash. Come BLACKEVIL’s debut album, 2017’s The Ceremonial Fire, the power-trio up-ratcheted everything: more speed, more hooks, more black, more evil, more of MORE! Diehards took notice, thankfully, and the band furthered the momentum the next year with a split LP with Italy’s esteemed Witchunter. Still, the best was yet to come…

At last, BLACKEVIL’s breakout moment arrives with their long-awaited second album, Forever Baptised in Eternal Fire. Of course, ones for astute titles, BLACKEVIL nevertheless lay it all on the line with Forever Baptised in Eternal Fire, bringing together their not-inconsiderable past with an envious present and doubtlessly damned future! Naturally, they’d never betray their roots – whether it’s the German thrash Big Three of Sodom, Kreator, and Destruction or evil speed metal legends like Razor, Evil Angel, OZ, and Exciter, and plenty of other classic points in between – but the way the trio assimilate them into something that’s so uniquely their own and yet so uniquely and purely HEAVY METAL, we can only guess there’s some black magick at play. Put another way, Forever Baptised in Eternal Fire is fucking EPIC from beginning to end, but it never sounds like it’s straining to sound “epic.” Likewise, one could charitably qualify BLACKEVIL here as transcending blackthrash altogether, so creative is this idiosyncratic iteration of the idiom…but even then, that’s selling both band and record short.

All we can say is simply step into this eternal fire, feel the witching-metal leads course through your veins, the throttling yet tastefully nuanced drums guide your quest, and allow bassist Abyss’ commanding and increasingly charismatic vocals to lead the charge; try to resist ALL THAT, and try remaining metal to the bone. Won’t work! Suitably for such a classic-in-the-making, Forever Baptised in Eternal Fire is baptized with (un)godly cover art by the masterful Paolo Girardi. Make no mistake: BLACKEVIL have ARRIVED!

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present EARLY MOODS’ striking debut mini-album, Spellbound, on CD and 12” vinyl formats.

Hailing from Los Angeles, EARLY MOODS formed in 2015 as an amalgamation of various experienced acts such as Rude, (ex-)Skeletal Remains, Fortress (California) and Nightmare (USA). From the beginning, the goal was simple yet sturdy: to pay homage to such classic bands as Candlemass, Witchfinder General, Pentagram, Trouble, and the almighty Black Sabbath. However, it wasn’t until 2020 when the band’s first recording appeared, originally self-released digitally on April 20th.
Bearing the evocative title Spellbound, form surely meets content here, as EARLY MOODS entrance the listener with molten grooves and bewitching atmosphere; this is tried-and-true HEAVY DOOM that doesn’t step past 1980! Naturally, traces of the aforementioned influences are tastefully spread across the 27-minute record, but each of its five component songs convey an alluring, addicting identity that’s entirely their own. Not for nothing are EARLY MOODS monikered as such, for their aeons-old aura and doomed-out swagger bespeaks an impossibly eldritch aspect – precisely, the kind’s perfect for proto-doom and its eventual genesis into traditional doom
